Thank you I faced this problem when reinstalling the windows 11 and then the fingerprint in my asus laptop got trouble, although the driver is downloaded from asus support website. I fixed this with your solution. Perfect!

I was lost, driver impossible to install, but with your method it worked! i had to right click on the file typed install information, click install and finally my fingerprint key (kensington verimark)was recognized. Any other method does not work: W11 tells me waiting delay has expired. Kensington's manual method did not work. It is very strange : before proceeding to W11 fresh install i had no problem. Thanks a lot man!
I have a laptop with a fingerprint sensor that has both Windows 10 and 11 on it, and when I cold boot into 10 it seems to do just fine. On 11, on the other hand, it works, but when I cold boot Win11, it has a delayed start for some reason. Previously, it was also fine, but I reinstalled Windows 11 because it broke, and now it's not doing it right anymore. Edit: Whenever I reset the sensor (delete the fingerprint and set it up again), it starts to do it again after a while.
I love that I can manualy find my drivers but it didn't fix my built in scanner to a new HP lap that crashed and reinstalled win 11. no usb devices or scanner working
