Learned something new. invert in mine mind had a whole different meaning and you clear it up. It makes more sense.

These pfsense videos are awesome! I have done a similar thing with an IOT vlan with my Ubiquitu APs, although I did the blocking of the LAN net a different way according to online tutorials. I like this way better.
Could you please do a future vid on pfsense LAGG, maybe more on migrating an already assigned LAN to LAGG.
    Thanks Space!

I'm amazed that your videos don't have more views! I wonder if this is yet another example of google censoring valuable information.

Another great video thanks man. Everything working fantastically apart from plex which no longer picks up the server anymore. I take it you don't use it at all now just emby? I just can't stomach setting everything up again 🙁

Even though I don't need any of this info myself anymore, I sure wish this had been made when I did need it. Firewall rules are one of those things you really just don't understand at all while randomly experimenting and failing over and over. Then, one day it just clicks in your head and finally, you understand how pfSense works with the rules. I would be willing to bet there are a lot of people out there who will really be able to benefit from this one in particular. I still like watching though, I like seeing how other people explain things like this and maybe pick up a few specific techniques along the way. Good job dude, keep it up!
As an aside, have you looked into any other ways to do ISCSI on unRaid? I JUST set up my first unRaid server thanks to your videos and using something like a barebones Ubuntu server VM seems like it would have less overhead. There has to be more than one option there and I would really appreciate you revisiting that and getting some other options. At least till Lime Tech decide to grace us with native ISCSI support. 😜

Anyway you can make a video on specific devices accessing other devices from different subnets? For example, A firestick on a restricted subnet trying to have access to Plex on a different subnet?

I tried to block the WAN net from an interface and it didn't work apart from blocking the LAN
I basically replaced your IOT interface rule !LAN example with !WAN hoping it would the internet on that interface - it didn't ..any ideas why ?
Or how do block an interface from the Internet (WAN)

I'm setting up a VMware home lab and need pfSense + Bind DNS server for resolving host names. A tutorial would be much appreciated.

There is no point changing the source from any to *.net as it would be impossible to use a different network from behind that network as pfsense isn't listening on any other subnets than the one you defined for that interface.
