- Ukrainian officials reported that airstrikes had hit the western city of Lviv on Saturday afternoon after explosions were heard earlier outside the city. At least five people were wounded. "There have been two rocket strikes within the limits of Lviv," regional Governor Maksym Kozytskyy said. The city's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, also said the city had been targeted by airstrikes in a post on Telegram. The mayor later said that "an industrial facility where fuel is stored caught fire" as a result of the attack, but that "no residential buildings were damaged." "All relevant departments are working on site," he wrote on Telegram. Ukrainian authorities had previously reported three large explosions near the western Ukrainian city of Lviv and urged residents to take shelter. "There were three powerful explosions near Lviv in direction of Kryvchytsy, now there is an air raid warning, so "keep calm and take shelter," Kozytskyy said in an online post, referring to an to the east of the city. Located in the far west of Ukraine near the border with Poland, Lviv so far has been spared from major Russian attacks and is a destination for refugees. It is the largest city in western Ukraine.

My heart goes out for a Lviv, I stayed there for a couple of months on business. Beautiful old town, absolutely gorgeous architecture, the opera house was beautiful. The people were so gracious and welcoming, the University children very bright earnestly wanting to learn how to speak English.

Libya was an uprising against the tyrant colonel Gadafy who was killed by his own people. Afghanistan was invaded to catch Osama Bin Laden who platted the 9/11 attack on US. Yemen is Saudi Arabia's affair.

Not everyone can afford such gear and it's being prioritized for people on the front lines. Everyone in Ukraine is at risk right now. Something can happen at any moment.

Lviv is the most beautiful city with least Soviet infrastructure, Lviv feels like the heart of Europe and not a former Soviet city at all. I worry for the civilians but I also hope and pray that the beautiful historic buildings that even survived two world wars remain intact.

@@ShortsKulture Ukraine is 48 million populated country, that is one of the biggest in Europe, also Ukraine have one of the biggest armies in Europe, so yes, occupying Ukraine will be a challenge to anyone, without using the NATO and US occupation strategies, like in Iraq for example, when they just used white phosphor and cluster bombs to just destroy everything alive and kill over 1,5 million people, then take wat's left, then Ukraine can be occupied, but Russia is not doing that, for now they finished they primary goal to get the land way to Crimea, now they are cleaning Azov regional places and avoiding entering the cities, just bombing military objects, that are civilian objects converted by Ukraineans into a military ones.
Russia did not used any of their weapon created after 2000 year, all the military ammunition and armory used by Russia is just USSR equipment, most of them are older than 60 years...

Russia couldn't just sit by do nothing when their fellow ethnic Russians were being massacred by the Ukrainian military.
U.S and NATO are not supplying Ukraine with weapons, because they are also ethnic Ukrainins, and so they have a kinship with them.
They just have a false hope of turning Ukraine into another Afghanistan for Russians.

My country was offered to fight in a different weight class - fight or kneel.
I'm a designer and these days my office has moved to the trenches, and we are millions like that. We accepted the challenge.
But what can we oppose to the blind aero bombs? Nuclear weapons that we've renounced to make the world a little bit safer place for safety guarantees - can't help prevent these attacks anymore. Today 35 people haven't woken up, and more than 100 became disabled for the rest of their lives - and it's only in my region.
Western leaders say they don't want further escalation thus stay aside. But history teaches us that taking NO action is what indeed causes most deadly wars. HUILO never fights with a stronger or equal opponent, just never mentioned. Don't be like a tiger who acts like a kitten.

@@chinnychinchin89 why there should be any "exit strategy"? Russia succesfully holds east-south part of Ukraine where most of populaton is still loyal to Russia. I am talking about Donbass and Herson. And Russia already started integrating this territories economically. They established administrations and ruble is currency there. Actually Russia already did it for the last 8 years but at smaler scale in Donetsk.
And other parts of Ukraine - they will be like big Somali. No economy, no central government, no investments, no infrustructure, but famine and any time russian jets or missiles can bomb this or that target. And Putin can do it as long as he wants. Absolutely the same as it was with USA in Afghanistan - formally talibs won, but in fact their country is a pile of garbage.
So don't yo think for the sake of Ukraine Zelenskyy should come to a political deal with Putin?

There is also the fact that they already deployed most of their intended troops (and hardware), so in order to relocate them, they would have to pull them out under enemy fire, circle them around the Ukraine and then redeploy them. This would be way harder than just sending in fresh reserves that would just have to be deployed anywhere + their offensive on the west would probably collapse, so Ukraine would probably also be able to relocate its resources, but it would be way easier for them as they have reserves and have shorter travel time because they dont need to circle around anything. In this stage of the conflict, it just doesn't sound like a viable strategy but more like a desperate measure to hold whatever they are still able to hold..

Ukrainian forces are almost entirely in the East, and have been divided into several separate pockets, each of them isolated from each other and from supply logistics by the Russian forces which encircled them. Ukrainian forces have no way of being resupplied with fuel, food, or ammunition, so the idea that they're going to be aggressively keeping Russians under suppressing fire to prevent them manoeuvring their vehicles is absurd. This is all just wishful thinking from naive Westerners who don't understand what's happening because they don't pay attention to Russian (or non-Western) sources.
