We had the worst type of lifting program in high school. We had a circuit. You spent 30 seconds on each lift. At the end of our senior year the coach had the linemen max on 250, and no one hit it more than once- lolol that was completely his fault. Good thing I lifted outside that circuit
When I got to college (d3) the rep count really was no more than 4 on the Olympic lifts. You kept going up until you couldn’t hit 4 perfect reps freshmen year I put on 20lbs
Hey first down what would be better for half or full marathon runner ? Squats or deadlifts with fast reps? Or will squats slow marathon runners down u think ?
Coach you got me a lil bit confused cause I know you’re not but it’s sounds like your saying building my chest and arms are going to make me should I forget about developing those muscle and just focus on explosive leg movements?
No don’t forget about it. I’m just saying that if it’s the only thing you do is lift like a bodybuilder you will get slower. You need to incorporate both into your routine. Sorry for the confusion!
Hey coach how can i (linebacker) put on muscle mass cause i hear you say train like an athlete do 3-6 rep ranges but will i still put on size with these contrast lifts and also how can i incorporate more linebacker work into my training
So I would say you want to mix both in. For muscle building lifts where you want to be in that 8-12 rep range you can do that for one set & then on a another separate set you can do an explosive lift like power cleans or even on a different day of the week. Just need to find a good split. I’m not a linebacker coach specifically so I don’t want to give you bad info on that part of your question, I apologize
I gained honestly like 15+ lbs it was a big weight gain. More importantly it was good weight, muscle mass. Here is a creatine that’s fairly cheap if you’re interested. aglabs.org/products/agl-creatine

No doubt, I’ve heard many horror stories like this
Great info coach and accurate 💯
Going heavy on the glute kickback machine really helped my acceleration.
You read my mind
❤
Appreciate you man, hope this was able to help!
This is great advice
Appreciate you man, thank you very much for the support! Hope this helped
Do you have drills to get faster when cutting off of a turn as a DB? Thanks.
If you checkout “firstdowndbs” on UA-cam we have some content there that can help!

I would say light weight and high reps of either exercise would benefit. Probably squats I would say just for safety measures on your lower back
When your next camp? Love the vids!

@@firstdowntrainingyour good coach just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to max my potential
so should i be lifting heavy for less reps?
I would say so, but bar speed is also important. So I wouldn’t go super heavy
hey coach do you have a workout plan for qb that will help gain weight
Yessir I just sent you a link on your comment on my other video
