Wow what a difference with the dove shot. Thanks for making this. What a movie and what a scene. After all of this time its still one of the best sci-fi movies out there. Such a beautiful story and amazing atmosphere.
The voiceover. In the U.S. theatrical cut, as well as the workprint, there’s a voiceover from Harrison Ford revealing Deckard’s inner thoughts, and explaining things to the audience. In the workprint, it goes: “I watched him die all night. It was a long, slow thing, and he fought it all the way. He never whimpered, and he never quit. He took all the time he had, as though he loved life very much. Every second of it, even the pain. Then, he was dead.” While in the theatrical cut, it’s: “ I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life, anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.”
Thanks! I wasn't aware that Roy Batty took a long time to die and that it was a protracted struggle. I always thought that it took just a few peaceful minutes. That's important information!
The shot is crap but the sky has to be blue. They knew the sky represent the heaven and they made it dark. It's like Indiana Jones in the end of the episode three riding not toward the sunset but toward a storm. Doesn't make any sense. I wish they just changed the buildings and let the sky be blue.
Are you being sarcastic the voice over sucks Harrison Ford hated it so much he performed it as bad as possible so they wouldn't use it the final cut is the best and definitive cut of the movie p.s. Deckard is definitely a replicant
