@Blockah it's a about throwing away processed plastics and metals to landfills which take millions of years to decompose. As opposed to the less harmful form in which they naturally occurr. I am sure we can all appreciate such materials not making into our drinking water. To revive and restore is noble and allows history to be preserved.
