If someone told me they talked before I watched this video, it honestly wouldn't surprise me. People who have genuinely great personalities and have a true love for the automotive world somehow always find each other and form great friendships. Super awesome!
Clay is super cool regular dude. I struck a conversation and had him checkin out my car. Taking pics. Giving advice. Top quality dude. Have a signed pic on ny wall
Just an FYI, when you get much over 60% nitro, the more you dump in, the more that WILL burn, the question becomes where that combustion takes place. As your buddy said they add a lot of ignition lead, because it does burn slower- but it becomes a balancing act between pre-ignition and severely high combustion chamber temps and the nitro still burning off when the exhaust valve opens and the accompanying sky-high EGT's. Too much of either will lunch the engine quickly. Also, because of the chemical makeup of nitro (being chemically unstable-ie: a hydrocarbon that carries it's own oxygen)-The first "knock" or "ping" you hear, will very shortly followed by the last noises that the engine will ever make. I used to tune my mexican street car by adding an additional 10 degrees timing (ford big block, so it's not directly relatable), and richening the mixture until the car was throwing a yellow/ orangish flame out of the exhaust under load (open headers). The theory being that a blue or whitish flame would indicate that there was too much fuel to be burned cleanly during the power stroke (and usually the 1st 10-15 degrees of the exhaust stroke), and the fuel was then combusting in the presence of atmospheric oxygen. Using EGT probes would be a much more scientific way of measuring this. Also- and I cannot stress this enough- CHECK THE OIL. Nitro will cause an engine that does not normall consume a lot of oil to do so, and nitro DOES NOT react well with most any motor oil. Most of it will turn to a thick, green sludge if it mixes with nitro in any appreciable concentration. Just though you'd like to know- and also. Love the content, keep up the good work.
I was wondering what happened to Phong. Glad to see him. He’s always so happy and positive. Just went and subscribed to Phong and Clays channels. It’s going to be fun to watch! Thanks Brent!
I always feel like I have arrived to the church of PFI whenever I hear, "it's your half hour of power!" HalleMOONjah, praise the Accord! 😁🙌 Take your K-ommuniun. 😉
Phong pushes the extreme with his NA motors. That requires a damn good tuner. I personally respect a tuner who can push the upper limits of high revving NA engines and get the numbers without toasting anything.
The power of friendship. I don’t think you can come across a problem, that “phone a friend “ can’t handle, considering how much you’re loved. Keep on being that ray of light to so many.
First time i saw you tuning at Jack Cecil and they said you are super good at tuning, i found you a bit weird. Wauw what a suprise at indeed how fun you are and how smart and creative. You see the things and know how to fix. I really enjoy to see tuning en some fixing of yours, what a joy. Be blessed, your much fun and so smart and nice
Phong is the best! Always love seeing how many pony's he is able to squeeze out of those minimal engines. Legend! Thanks for sharing and as always keep building👍
"I'm a pro..." He almost can't finish. Hahaha. Kidding, you know we love you Brent. :P Super excited for yet another Phong Song. Not sure about his singing, but his cars sure have pipes.
If you have any doubt that a car guy is a car guy, no matter how many cylinders they’re firing, the fact that Clay effin’ Millican just did a drop-in on this channel should clear that s##t right on up for you!!
I still remember the first race I ever watched after moving to CO was this little white EF. That was about 3 years ago and didn't think much of it. Love seeing this thing grow.
Little tip when your measuring the specific gravity spin the hydrometer to stop bubbles and stop it from sticking to the side to get a more accurate reading.
phongs such a cool dude,, I clicked then thought it might be hyped up phong limiter bash for the intro!!! so wound the volume back faster tha a fast thing
Crazy gains for a all motor tune, huge. I remember in the late 90s we were filling our tanks with 100 octane at the 76 gas station pumps...crazy how this all evolves.
I'm not big on subscribing to channels but after keeping up with you guys for some time and loving every sec donit you guys have definitely earned it. Keep at it
Man that car is clean. I had a 91 4-door that I really liked but it was just under powered. I can't imagine driving one that went 12.8! And thanks for the throttle body footage....was fun watching the injectors spraying the fuel.
This is so cool. In my country (Europe) the maximum RON we can get is 98, and race gas is very expensive. So when I want to raise the octane, I mix Toluene with the petrol. I have a tune for my car for a mix of 10% of Toluene (100RON) with a bit more timing. Awesome.
How awesome was the launch and docking, I was up all night in Australia watching it all happen, so awesome when people get together to make it happen, Keep on rippin', great to see Phong again too! Sick camper too, huge change since last time!!!
Problem is if you window a motor with this fuel the fire is crazy! It's fun to get power that easily but gotta take saftey extra seriously! Good to see Phong again! Can't wait to see his new car come together!
That is so cool. Love watching the science behind the gains. Really excited to see the final results on time slip!! Thanks for bringing us along. Brent is the MAN!!!
Nothing like watching a master hone a new skill. thanks for the insider info we know what nitro can do in the higher end stuff because of racing but this is fun to see the changes in data and how you make decisions into what the engine likes. i recently picked up the keyboard again and am starting to get the hang of it again. fun when you know more know because you guys werent a channel when i started tuning and others like humble just showing info that has been hidden to new people entering the sport. so again thanks for helping!
Clay Millican! sick! Crazy how you can feel like your a nobody and before you know it your meeting your heros, then your on a first name basis. Life is crazier than fiction.... Brent if this isn't real its one crazy program in the matrix.... one last thought, now I know whatthey were in all those racing arcade games I played at the pizza place in the 80s & 90s when you would have to hit the little bottles of nitro to go faster!
Nitro burns so slow that it will shoot tons of unburnt fuel out of the exhaust pipe. With that exhaust dump facing up is a dangerous combo, make sure there's extra extinguishers around! So stoked that Phong is back and Brent is learning Nitro!
That view down the plenum was super cool.. Look at the beginning see the original spray pattern.......then check out that last run!! Sooo cool......its amazing how much NitroMeth is being dumped in there.....and that's only 45%!! Super cool

In 1988 I had a Suzuki Samurai stolen, which I had bought new the previous year, and I wanted to put the insurance money down on a new, 4-door Civic - a blue one. At that time, the EF being new, I had not seen anyone do up a 4-door; not wheels, not lowered, no body kits, nothing. They were for old folks. I just top of the mixtures then Brent turn on the lighter😂😂😂
You put a lot of love in that engine a long time ago! It's a solid ripper man!
Rocket to the moon !

First it was just "oh let me call Clay Millican" to face timing with you! So awesome!
How cool is the fact you can phone a friend who drives a top fuel dragster in the NHRA? PFI cool!

All I could think about is the camera just getting sucking in to one of the itbs 😂😂
PFI needs more All Motor PHONG!!!
They should pour him a slab with utilities to park his homemade rv
I've never been more pumped to see a car make 250hp!!!!! Never cared much for Hondas until following PFI and BoostedBoiz, now I want a Honda
That 50hp gain is huge on that car
Oh man how I have miss phong 🙏 so glad to see he is doing good!! And still building incredible builds

I was wondering what happened to Phong. Glad to see him. He’s always so happy and positive. Just went and subscribed to Phong and Clays channels. It’s going to be fun to watch! Thanks Brent!
Looks like he went full off grid. If I had a rig like that I’d have done the same the day my boss temporarily shut down the shop.
Lol I figured he was working on the home within a truck
I'm an all-motor guy myself, so I always listen close when Phong speaks. Those ITB's are looking more appealing for my G54B engine build.
Brent: So I need to phone a friend before we start playing with nitromethane. Facetimes Clay Millican. Like a BOSS!! :-)
Pease help Phongs channel 'Unknown Journey' grow so we can see the Red Phoenix roar once more.
I'm All-in!

Phong seems to bring the best out of Brent
I also think that too
Phong seems like the one that is always willing to try new stuff and test just like Brent they are a great team together

@@pacmancao2692 That dry ice intake box he designed was super interesting.
Oh how I've missed phong!! He needs to be around more! He and Brent make me smile guaranteed.
The quality of PFI videos is getting sooooo much better!!! Thanks guys!!
Whenever phong is in the title I know to keep the volume down 😂😂😂👍
Or not use my headphones 😂😂😂😂😲
Use cheap headphones, the speakers max out before phongs car can blow your ears

When it comes to nitro running hit up Jaime marsh. He has all the records on nitro Honda’s. 🔥
