After searching the scenarios of using loop, I was very disappointed that no one is using a good example. But your video is exactly what I’m looking for. The scenario here perfectly explains why we need to use loop. Thank you so much! Save me a lot of time wondering.
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment!
I want to create a flow where when an account gets deleted so does the related contacts and finally it updates the account name field on related opportunities with Unknown. How to do it?
I have tried creating one and it deletes both the contacts and opportunities.
When I put Account Id equals to Unknown in update records element, it gives me an error
Hey Rameesha, Opportunities must be related to Accounts. I think that's where you're running into trouble. You could update the Opportunities and associate them with a placeholder Account with the name "Unknown" and then delete the original Account, but you won't be able to update an Opportunity to not have a related Account.
But we are using DML Operation inside the loop which is not a good practice
It's not a good practice. Highly recommend you move those operations outside the loop. Are you having trouble building a flow without DML operations in the loop?
@@Rotive I am just letting you know that we should not use DML inside the loop
I can't see the screen that you are demonstrating on your video :(
Sorry, David! We'll try to do a better job of zooming in on our screen - thank you for your feedback
