This top Sanskrit scholar gave the typical argument that they are too busy to bother about fools like Pollock. He was initially like most traditional scholars who live in cocoons about the world out there (kurukshetra). But I was able to convince him of the importance of responding to influential opponents, in accordance with our tradition of debates. Now we are delighted that he & his very brilliant young students have joined our Swadeshi Home team. More traditional scholars will eventually join. It is said that a brahmana should never recite the vedas to a mleccha (foreigner) and now i understand why that was. The reason why Hindu's never traveled outside our country to convert foreigners is because we knew that a mleccha can never be a Hindu..

Kushanas were once Mlecchas, so were Shakas, Hunas and Yavanas. Now they're a part of us and live on in our blood. Many great scholars like Dr. David Frawley(American) and Acharyas like Sivaya Subramuniyaswami(American) and Swami Ghananada(Ghanaian) have been of foreign origin. Let us not discriminate people based on race.
Swami Vishnudevananda did great work here in the States, the Bahamas and Northern Ireland. There are many Hindu converts here in the West like me because of his work.

Signing any MOU does not mean that Pollock and Co have the absolute authority to misconstrue the teaching. The west is always very smart in getting some legal doc done that gives them a foothold to stand on. That foothold needs to be shaken so hard that they do not know what actually hit them. I cannot believe why Indians tend to give such rights to outsiders.

If we want to do good service to shastras then start sending this generation children to learn shastras and previous generation people can get together from a group and request a Vakarna Nidhi or Learned person who has completed 15 Years of studies in Pathashal and Learn Shastras from them.

It is unfortunate that the pundit who is talking to Rajiv ji has no awareness or seriousness to be an intellectual leader for this task. He is like many PhDs who go to sleep after they get their job. I hope we have more aggressive and intelligent people than this, who can defend our Shatras with courage and commitment in their heart, like Rajiv ji. Cowards no matter how knowledgeable, are useless.

I cant imagine the amount of strain this great man has to go through. Fighting single handed, arguing with and controlling the western minded people so as to prevent them from hijacking and degrading our scriptures and tradition.

This reminds me of a friendly discussion among fellow Indians I was part of while I was a student in Australia. A SriLankan friend in our group jokingly remarked to my Punjabi classmate that South India is rich in culture, arts and spirituality, while North Indians are aggressive, crude, etc.
My Punjabi friend gave a brief reply, which still echoes in my mind: While South India had time to hone their arts, music, spiritual practices, etc, North India (especially North West India) was always in the cross-roads of foreign Invasions, massacres, etc for continually since Alexander days, Hence you always had to be battle ready.. when you are faced with barbarians for 2000 years, you cannot go to battlefield singing paeans to Gods, doing Bharatnatyam, doing Shastra-Veda discussions in Kings courts. (This is not to say that North India didn't prosper spiritually, in arts, music etc during those 2000 years or that South India didn't have to face invasions at all..).
It is nice to hear talks of concentrating on Spirituality, Arts, non-violence, etc, but when the enemy is on your doorsteps, you got to behave like Kshatriyas.

We the devotees of sringeri mutt know that, it's administrator officer as a most corrupt person, but we are helpless. Believe me he has property worth of crores of rupees, can he reveal his source of income? We can't question him, nor let swamiji know about it. This because administrator has been controlling swamijis public interaction. As a result swamiji availability only for those whose administrator first circle certifies and let's the communication go, otherwise swamiji won't spare time. Rajiv ji, it is very easy for Sheldon Pollock to fix these kind of corrupt administrators and circle by luring them with some mundane gifts. I first appreciate Mr Rajivaji Malhotra for splendid job he is doing for our true treasure of sanathana dharma, we usually call it hindu dharma. First thing we all hindus and our traditional scholars not aware of the canfiracy has been taking place against our vaidic knowledge. This present time traditional hindu scholars have no idea what is going on behind their back by the westerners idologists. They know there is nothing in their religion as spiritual but all fanatics which is intelligently hammered long time ago by Shree Swami Vivekanand which our scholars don't want understand.
They want to snatch it from us without our permission and they been doing it for long time because we Hindus are not united or organized. This very serious therefore we should first set system to aware every hindu by having communication between each and every hindu organization, temples by connecting each other. Those should be registered at one place. This should be done by our hindus four pithas.
Now the time has come to unite and organize and ask people like Narayana Murthy that who give you authority to temper with Sanskrit leatureture for the sake of your own benefit. Westerners fake god system but it is well organized. They not going to admit and learn from us because they are not looking for spirituality but dominance by converting hindus to chistianiy. Rajiv Malhotra's patience in dealing with these obscurantist and obstinate traditional scholars is commendable. I have learnt Sanskrit in the traditional way in Pathashala, many decades back, learning texts by rote. The attitude of traditional scholars is "Let him write whatever he likes. Can he change the practices of dharma and rituals in India? What we are doing will continue. What does it matter what he writes or interprets?" What the traditional scholars fail to understand is that Sheldon Pollock, Wendy Doniger and people of their ilk have great influence in the academic circles both abroad, especially in India. Our text books will be modified by the Government which also foolishly swallows the advice of left-liberals who are guided by such western sanskrit scholar. There is no doubting the ability of these western sanskrit scholars. They have dedicated their entire career for mastering sanskrit. But, they are antagonistic to India and Hinduism and sanatana dharma. Their interpretation will wean away our future generations from our traditions.
Rajiv Malhotra will prove the chief saviour of Hindu spiritual tradition. Thank you, so much.
Wendy Doniger is another person like Pollock who is engaged is misrepresenting our hindu texts. My brother-in-law gave me a book titled Hinduism by Wendy Doniger. It was painful to read because she would quote from some text, not in the main stream, and make it out that is what many Hindus believe and subscribe to. on the face of it looks deceptively scholarly but her stealthy objective is to cast a shadow on our texts by cherry picking those texts that will help her advance her cause. Dangerous to say the least. My doubts about her intentions were later confirmed by Rajiv ji in one of his youtube clips. I consider him a one-man army!! God bless him!
Indias biggest enemies are indians. I observed in around in the society , these traditional scholors whether egoistic or negligence or ignorance, do not bother about what is happening to their culture and shasthras. They are in their own world. They are not bothered about its future existance and misrepresentation by some idiots. This attitude should go and the preservation responsibility should be taken by them seriously. I am sure people respect them for their contribution.
