- Join Birmingham Royal Ballet as part of World Ballet Day 2023 as we stream a masterclass from the legendary Darcey Bussell. Darcey will be coaching BRB Dancers Haoliang Feng and Yu Kurihara in parts of The Sleeping Beauty.

Always more to learn in the art of ballet from the generous retired ballerinas who pass on their knowledge to the next generation is the very richest of part that sustains this beautiful art formed. I genuinely appreciated seeing into this open rehearsal coached by Dame Darcey.🌹
Darcey has become an amazing coach. Eye for detail and so encouraging.
Really appreciate the dancers showing us the process of rehearsal. It must feel quite vulnerable to have an audience whilst learning this.

It shows not all ballerinas have banana feet.
The line of the leg is better without banana feet. It's fine with me!
Also, the dancer rotates her shoulders forward, head and neck a bit forward and elbows back when listening. It's a normal habit for her. However she needs to stop doing that in daily life and be conscious of her posture when not dancing to prevent the arms to the back as in wings for Swan Lake and to bring her back under control. Sh's very flat in the back naturally. She's darling when she dances! Absolutely darling, though.
The final result, Seen the last night performance Plymouth 23/03/2024. Sell Out, Brilliant Dance,Stage Sets,Costumes and Orchestra. Well Done! So pleased to have been there!
