    Hi, Michael, i have only just watched your Genos tutorial 1. You have actually taught me how to use the playlist facilities for the first time in 3years, and i am now overwhelmed. You are such a wonderful teacher, and make everything so easy to understand.
    I have tried saving playlists before, and then after a while,they come up as unrecognised.
    Thank you so much, from another Michael.
    I am now 80yrs old, so you can teach an old dog new tricks..

    Hello Michael - Many thanks for this excellent video - Yamaha Global/Europe and UK should be very pleased that you have recorded this and give you a very big pat on the back for savining them doing the job that they should have done years ago. The lack of information provided by Yamaha is disgusting for a keyboard costing this much and they should feel very ashamed. Michael thank you again for helping out newcomers to the Genos

    Enjoyed your tutorial on the genos and am looking forward to the next one. I hope it will be soon. This seems to be one thing that Yamaha does not do, giving tutorials or videos on how to use their equipment. Even the technicians that I've talked to really don't know all of the angles and they won't tell you how to go about doing things most of the time. You have to hunt through the reference manual and Hope you can find the information you need and put it to use.

    Just got the Genos. It is very nice and has capabilities galore. Only complaint so far is the unbelievably cheap volume control, mic gain and sliders and knobs. Wow. Basically a nearly 6 thousand dollar keyboard and the knobs are something you’d find on a $300 keyboard. I love Yamaha gear and have owned an MOXF8, an MX88, a Montage8 and now the Genos. The Montage8 knobs and sliders were worthy of a high end product and the Genos is over a thousand more and gets these cheap knobs and sliders. I think Yamaha should send all Genos owners replacement high quality knobs and sliders for those mentioned. Still won’t improve the actual cheap slider assembly itself but would at least be more worthy of this highly expensive flagship. Come on Yamaha you should be embarrassed to have let this go through.

    • @KeyboardKrazy49
      @KeyboardKrazy49  5 років тому +1

      Brian Lewis thank you for your comment! Yes I know what you mean, it is such a fantastic keyboard with great capabilities, it is a shame that they have flimsy knobs and sliders that you would expect on a much cheaper keyboard, the capabilities with the sliders and knobs are great though and I agree, I think Yamaha should send every Genos owner better sliders, knobs etc so they would look much better on a $6000 keyboard (about £4000 in UK currency).
      Thanks for watching!

      Thanks for your comment and feedback! Yes I have realised that the moving around didn’t make the video perfect, I have soon changed the way that I do videos and put my phone on a tripod, it was the first time at the time that I have used my phone on my videos, not long after that I have bought myself a phone holder for my tripod so that I don’t have to hold the phone whilst recording and that I have both hands free to use the keyboard.

    Hi Michael I love your videos so please keep them coming I just purchased the Genos it was a huge jump from the tyros 3 but I am a little disappointed in that I have to tweak the sounds more on the Genos and the Tyros 3 is very well adjusted and no tweaking necessary. I do have a problem and wonder if you can help me please? Ever since my Genos had arrived 3 days ago December 8th, 2021 I have been playing it daily and reading, and now I have a problem where it seems the sustain is stuck holding notes on right 2 & 3 when switched off they still play. The only time they are not heard is when I lower the volume with the sliders. Have you experienced this or does my keyboard have a defect? I have factory reset it both ways each time this has happened. Then when I begin playing again I have the same problem is it my pedal or is it the keyboard? Thank you for your urgent help.

      Maybe you could use one of those selfie sticks and fix it to a tripod. It would be nicer to view and to follow what you do if you used both hands to show us the stuff on the keyboard with less moving and shaking clips. Also, don't zoom in so much. It's more interesting with a wider view. I really enjoyed the tutorial and I'm interested in other things you want to share with us. Regards.

    I find the menus on computers for music keyboards over complicated and this demo does worry me that I will struggle to find the enormous amount of options. I just want a much simpler keyboard, that has preset instruments and extra voices including drum machine to use with my analogue Hammond analogue organ. Not all of us musicians are tech geeks.

      Have to agree with you Chris; I've had a Tyros 4 for a few years now and I still can't get to grips with the techy side. I was hoping to get myself the new Genos, but I have my doubts about being able to get anywhere with it. I spent half-an-hour in the music shop a couple of days ago, but I couldn't get beyond setting the style preset, as the sounds I expected weren't there, and I couldn't find where the instrument presets where! I think it must be my age. Trouble is, the salesmen are so good at producing fantastic music, but not so good at telling you how to get there. I don't expect them to provide a complete tutorial, but I do feel they should spend just a little time showing the basics. The thing is, they know what they're doing because they've been shown by the companies; we, the paying customer are not likely to have had that privilege, and I, for one, always feel like a pillock in my attempts.
      Even with this tutorial, he got so techy I lost it early on!!

      Charles Griffiths I know you left this comment a couple of months ago, but if you go to 3:44 I explain that there are no longer categorised buttons for the voices and styles as you now access them via touchscreen.
      I know you have your doubts about this machine but I hope this helps

      @@KeyboardKrazy49 Many thanks for this info. I did take note at the time of the info you refer-to, but not then having access to the instrument it really wasn't a great deal of help. The nearest store was/is some 65 miles away, but after very long consideration, I decided that, at my age, I really couldn't justify getting rid of the Tyros and buying the Genos. The other point in disfavour related to my experience with the Tyros - and that was to do with the styles: I simply didn't like how Tyros listed them, or how inflexible they were when you did manage to find one that suited your purpose. I'd had a Korg previously, and it was superior in most ways to the Yamaha, except that it was incompatible for recording purposes. Finally, having listened to almost all of the styles you played, I heard very, very, very few that were different from each other, and since they sounded all quite "samey" I decided it just wasn't worth the money or the effort in re-learning. Still, it was good of you to get back to me, and I appreciate that. Thanks again.

    This proves once again that making a good tutorial is very difficult. This video content is good but gives a terrible nervous impression by the bad camera work. Please consider this as constructive criticism.
    Provide a stable and clear camera setup.
    It is very unfortunate that your work is being shortened in this way.

      Thank you for your concern about the camera movement of this video and that I do realize this, on my next tutorial, I will be using a tripod to put the camera on so it will be much more stable and more easier for me as well as I can use 2 hands if I need to show certain tips.

      Leo van den Broek for this recording I used my iPhone 6, I now have an iPhone 8 and the video resolution is so much better, so it will be much better video quality and I bought myself some phone holders so that my phone can be put onto an tripod.
      The iPhone 6 is also great video quality but as newer phones come out, the camera gets even better on the top of the line phones

      After recording...do you use a program like PinnacleStudio ?
      A sugestion: Put the tripod behind the Genos.
      The recording is than upside down, but video editprograms have the possibility to flip the recorded file 180 degrees.
      Use a pencil or ballpoint to point some issues. a hand often covers too much.
      Make a script (on paper, in your head) what you want to show us.
      Never improvise while recording. Its not a Television program.
      You want to make a tutorial.
      Believe me, I know what it is.
      Show your recording to friends or family first before you publish it.
      They often see the mistakes rather than yourself. Business blindness !!!.
      A consolation, the more often you do this, the better you will become.
      Many succes.

    it's obvious from the you tube videos, that Bonners is a class operation....with that in mind, why the crazy and unprofessional looking shaky cam work in this video???? I could barely watch it, in spite of the valuable information....focusing in, every now and then, is not so bad, but the side to side motion is hard to watch.

    • @KeyboardKrazy49
      @KeyboardKrazy49  6 років тому +1

      DrGargani Sorry about that, throughout the tutorial, I was using my phone for the recording, I can disable the shaking if you wish on this video via the edit function on UA-cam, the reason to why I was using my phone is so I can give closeups of the functions that I’m using, and yes I see that you have pointed out that I have focused on certain parts when they became blurry, I couldn’t do that on the ZOOM video recorder that I would usually use in my videos as it isn’t touchscreen for me to focus, but at least with the ZOOM I can put it on a tripod so you wouldn’t get the shaking.
      Thanks for watching!

      Michael, A very comprehensive video for the first one. You did an excellent job of explaining those functions that you addressed. I would like to see you do another video of the quick audio and the audio mult recording that shows the differences and how to quickly erase a newly created song or idea. Also, how to save to a usb flash drive without loading it on your hard drive and gobbling up your hard drive space. Thanks again, Congrats!

      @KeyboardKrazy49  6 років тому

      Chris Stoddern there are less complicated keyboards that have great sounds, there will be a PSR-E463 and a PSR-EW410 entry level keyboards which will be easy to use, just a blue backlit LCD screen, none of the computer based screens.

      Thanks very much for your suggestions, I had a look at your entry level; and that was useful. Only bit of constructive feedback, is it possible to put each model number your reviewing on the screen, as I had to keep replaying what you said ha! ha!, as I couldn't always catch the model number or slow down a bit so it's easier to hear and write down the model your reviewing. Guess my hearing isn't as good as it was Lol. Many thanks, you certainly seem to know your keyboards.
