Great content! Former C /Co 2/75 Ranger Battalion (92-96). Great to hear stories from Airborne, RIP, Ranger BN during the early 90's. Just like Brad said, tons of quitters in the Airborne parking lot at RIP lol. And yes...getting crushed everyday at BN was the norm. I remember the time at McGregor Range at Ft Bliss prior to Operation Gothic Serpent. Good to hear Brads perspective on Mogadishu. Great content... I wouldn't trade my time in Ranger Regiment for anything.
What a fucking legend brad is, to go thru his career and see how the army chamged from a peacetime army to a full blown GWOT especially at the VERY HIGHEST LEVEL of the game.... crazy man much respect to you and brad. RLTW Bco 06-12
The part about transitioning and losing part of your identity is spot on and exactly where im currently at. Seperated almost 2 years still trying to figure it out and know what im supposed to be doing.
You’re not alone, many feel that way. I still feel that way some days, it is the battle and vast opportunity of the freedoms and in turn responsibilities given. Stay positive, you have achieved great things and are capable of many more!
Once met the senior enlisted man in SOCOM and told him a coworker had tried out for a reserve unit of the Special Forces. With a grin on his face his advice for the next time he tried out was simply “don’t quit.”
Awesome! Loved hearing all of that! Is there any chance that you’d be willing to do a video on the specifics of 13F and what a day to day looks like for you in regiment. I’ve seen two of your videos now touch on 13F in regiment but I’m curious what a day to day looks like… Also, If there is any other MOS that you would recommend to someone looking for something that transfers well to civilian life Thanks Keep up the great work!
join us for one of our live chats and we can talk more on these topics! We are careful not to share too much, but we do cover some general expectations on life in Regiment. Refer to our series "Dan and Jay Live" after we host the live chats, we post them to the channel. It's hard to pick any one MOS that would suit you but there are jobs that could directly transfer to civilian life. Also, there are some that transfer well to government jobs. Typically, support type MOSs have the most transferability outside of the military, but some like the excitement and tactical aspects of combat MOSs. Hope that helps and join us live for more info!
Rangers are like Royal marine commandos ; they too have Recce Tp and Brigade Recce to but it’s mostly ML,s mountain leaders , as a marine you could go there as long as you passed unit Tp Recce , think later the did selection for BPT , para trained and the steerable trained , no diving course although some of us did ships divers , but that stoped lol money 💰 , most lads went SBS , or ML , or SAS Like the rangers going to RRC / RRD or SF Green Berets or DELTA / Unit ,
