DOLL IN ART EXHIBITION @ THE HEYDAR ALIYEV CENTRE. BAKU, AZERBAIJAN
On December 27, 2016, the exhibition “Doll in Art” was inaugurated at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.
Held with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the exhibition displayed 230 dolls, handicrafts of 60 artists-sculptures from 16 countries. These works of art are samples of a collection consisting of over 400 exhibits, in total.
Handicrafts of renowned artists-doll makers from Azerbaijan, USA, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Belarus, France, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Northern Cyprus, Indonesia, Ukraine and Japan were presented at the exhibition.
Along with traditional dolls made of porcelain, paper, plastic, wood and fabric, modern dolls made using state-of-art technology were also presented. Dolls at the exhibition were divided into 11 different types. So, the exhibition features exhibits in such themes as dress history, comic characters, holiday images, people of Icherisheher, fairy-tale characters, wood dolls and others.
