Thank you so much for making these video’s. I’ve been wanting to step up my work with wool stitchery and you are my go to person. You do beautiful work and I love all your ideas for embellishments.
Thank you!! I've been going bonkers trying to figure this out. You connected the dots and made it work in my brain. Thank you thank you thank you you are wonderful❤
For you newbies: When Mary says "press" the freezer paper to the wool", she means "press" it with a dry iron. It only takes a couple of seconds, let it cool, then see if it's adhered enough to do your cutting, if not give it a couple more seconds as freezer paper is only a temporarily adhesive. You can use freeaer paper a few times, so if you need 12 leaves of the same shape, only cut one out of freezer paper and if it stops sticking, cut another. You'll figure out how many times you can reuse it. (Depends on your paper, how hot your iron, how long you "press", etc.) Sending lots of love 💖from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷
Thank you for viewing and for taking the time to comment. I'm sorry I don't speak Spanish - but your written English is very good!! It's amazing how the internet lets us 'meet' people around the world! My son and his fiance have taken several trips to South America (with Explora) over the last few years and last year were in Santiago: they make a travel blog which they share with us and so we get to 'travel along with them'! I love learning about other countries and their occupants! There is much beauty in South America!
Hello there I’ve just discovered your channel And I have to say I’m so enjoyed videos They are so informative and very helpful I’m knew to wool appliqué And I’m just starting to learn how to do stitching and I’m finding that your videos are helpful thank you 😊
Thank you for taking the time to view and to comment. It makes me smile if my information is helpful to others (guess that is the teacher in me!) But always remember, learn a lot, choose what suits your purpose, creative intent and budget and enjoy the journey! Happy stitching!
Why wouldn’t you just put the fusible web on the backs of your wool pieces and then trace the pattern pieces right on the top 9:40 as shown here? It seems to be so much easier, no?
Depending on which process you choose, the two 'papers' you would use are 1) a paper backed fusible (Heat N Bond light) and 2)freezer paper. Just a note here about freezer paper: many modern freezer papers are actually made with a plastic coating, instead of the wax that was once used. In my experience, they still 'kind of' work, but often can be aggravating since they don't always hold very well, especially depending on the surface texture of various wools. S and they usually are not easy to reuse. Sometimes stitchers have said that they can get the 'good' stuff by buying from a local old time butcher. OR you can order sheets that offer a better quality ( I ordered CUTRITE and have been very satisfied - it is also a bit heavier weight which is nice).
