Dc is secretly a huge D head and plays a fake nice guy.....it was nice to see him get smashed
There's just so many details that add up to make it satisfying. The first loss deserving to be a DQ, the UFC stacking EVERYTHING against Stipe, Stipe being forced to wait for his rematch, DC being overly cocky, all the cheating DC did in the two fights, the ref ignoring DC cheating, Stipe still coming out on top despite it all including his eye requiring surgery from all the pokes, the riverdance afterwards, DC still acting extremely salty over it, and the fact it lead to the amazing third fight.
That whole fight was incredible, one of the best closing sequences I’ve ever seen
I think me too. The Pete Cell thing was crazy, Pat Barry and Chieck Kongo.
But the body shot adjustment was calculated and precise and brutal. Not just a wild KO
Demetrious Johnson had every excuse to be upset or angry after the loss against Henry but he handled it like a true champion. Nothing but respect for him truly one of the greatest the sport has ever seen

@@RodrigoDubstep Likewise. She had cardio issues earlier in her career but had got on top of that. Had to fight into the championship rounds a few times and didn't have a problem. But then she completely gassed out in the first round with Pena? It was very strange. To then find out she had COVID leading up to the first fight made all the sense in the world.

Don't know why UFC got rid of him. Humble, entertaining, skilled and always goes for the finish.

There is a class action lawsuit against UFC by the fightwrs for a reason. Dana White and the UFC are cons.
DJ is still fighting in One FC, and is still great. One FC has a higher global audience than UFC, so it's actually still a fantastic promotion with great fighters. Easily on par with UFC.
Stipe finding a way to win when he was losing is one of UFC's most spectacular comebacks.
I don't think he was losing that badly though.

Fs. I mean. Did anyone really think Peña beat Nunes at her best that night? Hell no. I think most of us knew that Nunes was still better hands down. Peña will only win with Hail Mary submissions or if Nunes becomes lazy. That’s it
1. Nunes threw the first fight in order to make big betting cash by betting on Peña
2. Covid fucked her cardio big time
3. She lost motivation in being champ and got lazy
Peña simply doesn’t not have the skill to beat Nunes at even her 3rd best
I was amazed her dumb strategy worked the 1st time. I felt it wouldn't work again.

I remember tuning in late and as the camera was showing the fighters right before they start the round I assumed I caught it at round 1 cause Cain looked in perfect condition but then they showed JDS and it was the start of round 5 with his face looking like a swollen thumb

@@MomDoer-qc7iw Lol. Nunes striking looked great in that rematch. i've never seen a "champ" getting knocked down so much in a fight and simultaneously look so goofy at the same time like pena. I'm just glad Nunes showed her true colors in the rematch and came back to right the wrong and get back what belongs to her. She just proved that she's better and i think a 3rd fight would really silence the doubters (if there's still doubt)

Honestly, if Arlovski had a chin he would have probably been one of the greatest of all time. He was ripping up Fedor in his prime before he committed to the best flying knee ever. His career going as long as it has, and remaining relevant in the HW division speaks to his capabilities. Having to game plan around having a gigantic off button on his face has lead to some stinkers, though.

STIPE WITH THE GREATEST MID FIGHT ADJUSTMENT OF ALL TIME
Took Stipe 3 rounds to find an adjustment when JBJ was landing body shots on DC right from the get-go in their rematch.
Okay well then that would be considered Jon jones game plan not a mid fight adjustment. Stipe had a different game plan it wasn’t working, so he found a weakness in DC game plan, adjusted and finished the fight. Plus Jon was on roids in the rematch. Casual fan foh

underutilized tool in MMA since leg kicks are open and easier to land. but seriously, body shots are harder and will take toll to you as the fight goes longer.

Stipe vs dc 2 was an amazing fight. Dc went full dad mode and looked unstoppable in the first round, but by mid fight it was a very even fight. Then stipe made a seemingly minor adjustment that totally turned the fight in his favor and finished dc, showing his fight iq.
The greatness of this fight is sadly overshadowed by eyepokes in the eyes (no pun intended) of many, but even without dc going knuckle deep this was going to be a very competitive fight. And stipe got his own poke revenge in the third fight, and now he and dc are on good terms so there was a happy ending.
Penas striking makes rouseys striking look really good in comparison. Pena running at nunes like bart Simpson swinging his arms at lisa in that hockey episode.

I watched just a little bit of UFC when I was young. From Canada so of course it was GSP fights that I watched. But the very 1st time I watched a live event, was the 1st Dos sasntos vs Velasquez. I've been a die hard fan of both Dos Santos and the UFC since then. What amazing fights.

One could say D.J. won the rematch against Cejudo, too. We all know how the judges be in the UFC (and Dana was pretty hot to get Demetrious out at the time). It's the only rematch here that was controversial at all. The rest were decisive.
Yup I knew all about it because after how much they were hustling him I don't think he's mad because he wanted out after the way they were acting. He only has one real lost in One championship but still one of the best. If they had a rematch again I'm for certain he would go for the KO
For real, Arlovski and Sylvia fights where bangers. The 3rd one sucked but then years later in one Arlovski punted Sylvia head with a soccer kick and made up for it
I really wish the Stipe/DC trilogy happened when they were 5 years younger. I feel like we would have seen way better versions of them, especially in that 3rd fight.
