I love Seongjoong. They're really the parents of Ateez. And they're actually very cute together.

Seongjoong are really the foundation of ateez. They take care of younger members and always support each other, share responsibilities and burdens. Like other members said, Hongjoong organizes and disciplines them, while Seonghwa comforts them. Seonghwa also takes care of Hongjoong because he said that HJ is too busy being a leader so he needs someone to take care of him. SH often tells him to come home when HJ is working hard in the studio on new music and sleeps there. HJ, on the other hand, is very thankful for SH’s help since he can fully focus on composing and writing new music knowing SH takes care of other members when he’s busy. He even wrote a song named “Thank you” for Seonghwa to express his gratitude and it’s honestly one of the most touching things ever. All Atiny love this song. So yeah, they tease each other a lot but they actually deeply care, understand and rely on each other a lot.

I don't think calling Seonghwa a "mom" is an attack or disrespect to his gender identity. I think it just describes his way of caring for people/ his members as Maternal rather that having Paternal energy. Although gendering how people care for each other is kinda weird it is how we currently know how to describe it I guess.
