I've been listening and floowing Bobby for nearly 40yrs, attended 34 concerts, met him twice, heard many, many cover versions of his songs, including Tambourine Man, and I gotta say, this is one I will add to my play list. Brilliant kid, you held all our attention, well done 👏👏👏
For me, besides the talent of this young man, the magnificent lyrics of the genius Dylan, it is the audience appreciation, The young ppl surprised me and thrilled me that they too recognized a song written for the ages.. Congrats Matt and student body,
listing to this @ 5:21 the drawn out harmonica note I recall from Dylan's live version of It's All Over Now (Baby Blue) from his Biograph album where another reviewer described Dylan's voice on the song as anguished.
@matt rosewood I was probably experiencing some kinda small anguish man, so that aint far off, its all over now baby blue has those similar draws on harmonica so I can definitely see that link
I was in the audience for this, at the Ross High School talent show. Amazing performance, glad this has been archived and remained up even after all these years. Hope Matt is doing well.
I love how great music lasts. I recently found this song and heard diff covers. This guy covered it 9 years ago. The years will pass but the music will remain. The soul each artist puts into his music determine how long.
I’ve been listening to people cover this song for 40 years believe me when I tell you know body sings Dylan like Dylan except this kid ! Wow superb cover
I've been searching for covers of this song and gotta say this is waaaaay up there..... And happy to see there are still people in younger generations who still love these songs.....
What a great cover! He listed to that song more than a little bit!!! True Dylan fan. The audience annoyed me too, but it was probably their first time hearing a Dylan masterpiece..and done right. Fantastic performance.
My God, i been following dylan for almost 60 years and have seen him 35 times and met him in cleveland in 1991 and that harp playing sounds just like dylan himself.
@@timburns999 dylan was in cleveland on July 17, 1991 and I was walking down by lake erie and looked up and dylan was walking toward me. I stood still put out my hand to shake his and he turned walked toward me and shook my hand. Told him he was the best. He smiled and walked into his bus. I have seen him 35 times. The first time was on November 12, 1965. I told him that I saw him at the music hall in cleveland in 1965. I just got lucky that night.
I see that this is from 11 years ago on the information description. I wonder if Matt is still singing? I guess if in high school here he'd be about 27 orr 28 now. Hope he stayed in this genre of music- he's vey good!!
The thing is... the genius of this song is that is sounds so "improv?" regardless of whether its him or dylan who sings it. but it probably took this kid 6+ months to perfect. and he did it, and the audience, while they appreciated the performance, will never know the true dedication it took to do this.
And to be a young lad meself when Dylan first aired those songs on the radio. Ah, we had decent music in those days. Great musical decade was the 60's.
Hey Matt Hibart. I got out of a long night of work and I wanted to hear the original or the byrds cover. I stumbled on this and was not disappointed. Precision, talent, and alot of balls to do it that well. Congrats. Lmk where youre full fledged cover concert is in tje works and ill buy a couple tickets. Namaste buddy.
It’s too bad that there were people constantly getting up and moving around and talking loud enough to hear. This is by far the best cover and he sang every verse just like Dylan. His harmonica skills are off the charts….ever draw and blow so similar to Bob. Wow!
I know the crowd might get excited, but let the kid do his bit without all the noise. Great talent picking on a great Dylan song. 2010 eh? And doing it in the key of F too. Byrds did in D if I remember correctly.
It takes nerves of steel to perform in front of a high school audience . My rock band won the county wide Battle of the Bands contest with the students doing the judging . believe me , teens can be ruthless . you've only got a few seconds to get them to like you .after that you will be booed off stage . 😂
Everyone's Jaw hit the floor when he started singing, and it was obvious he was going to win.
HE BETTER HAVE WON !! ✌🏽

That’s exactly what I’m so happy and surprised about. I wonder if this could happen today, (2021)!?
i was gonna say i wish i was this cool in high school but i kinda just wish i was this cool now

He deserved to win. As the entire song is brilliant poetry, I'm also very pleased that he didn't skip any verses.
Love from Bangladesh. The best cover I've heard so far... great indeed brother...

Great job, Matt. As a long term fan of "Bob", you became "Bob" for the 7 minutes you were on stage, for me
Oh love it so much .. Pure talent.. Big like and subbed.
