It does not take a rocket scientist to realize that not having Shaw, Martínez, Varane, and Dalot as the back four for virtually the entire season created a massive negative domino effect that threw off the balance of the entire squad. The drop off from those four as a unit to Maguire, Lindelof, Evans, Wan Bissaka, and Casemiro in the back line is massive. The inability of the media to actually acknowledge this or, worse yet, purposely downplay it, made me lose a lot of respect for many media outlets this season. And worse yet, INEOS do not appear to understand that the reactionary mainstream media categorically do not represent the overwhelmingly majority of United fans who actually know the real problems that affected the balance and dynamic of the team this season.
Common sense isn't common mate

I fully understand you, Mark. I'm 55, and I remember when we finished 11th and 13th under SAF. Fergie was allowed to continue with a project, and thank god that he was.
The greatest dumb thing I’ve heard is “ETH isn’t the manager SAF was so don’t compare”. So those people want to give ETH a shorter leash than a manager that was way better. Some idiots can’t make it make sense
Facts- the thing is we we're screaming for a rebuild years ago and knowing we wont be in the race for a while, and now some of these fans want an instant top 4?? Last season was a miracle!
Jim Radcliffe hasn’t got a good record in sports management.
And never will
Ratcliffe's track record with his investment in French club Nice is unimpressive
Yes true this Jim Radcliffe must be OUT of Manchester United his here to make sure Man U win nothing
I wonder if McKenna told chelsea he was in talks with united and chelsea leaked it hoping united would loose the FA cup and they would keep europa league. If ineos bring in a manager using united to get a better contract at chelsea, not much to say other then ineos out
He messes every sports team up,from the clubs he own to the sports teams carrying his Ineos logo
If Ten hag was English, i guarantee the media wouldn't be on him half as much. Its absolutely disgusting that press conference after game no media complemented how he set up against a quality team or even congratulated him. Unlike last year we actually have won games against tricky opponents to get to final. You'd wonder if media still has an issue with being banned that time.
Did you watch the post match press conference?
Yep, question after question about his future. Would this have happened to any other manager? Even Poch wasn't hassled as much after the final loss to Liverpool.
They've had it in for him since the moment he got the job and are still pissed that it never went to Pochettino two years ago.
It endears me to Ten Hag so much more that he has to deal with the pathetic disgraceful media that has to criticize us for a paycheck. Everyone associated with Man United is torn to shreds by the media, and I love how defiant Ten Hag is when answering their pathetic questions. He’s one of us and we have to protect him ❤❤❤
I blame Ineos what do you expect the Media to do? It's been leaked from the club that he's getting sacked. That's a major story, if the press don't ask their questions then they get a bollocking from their editor. If there's blood in the water you're gonna get Sharks.🙂
Funny thing is most of us wanted Qatar and Shiteos came and ruined it

I am Australian. I follow AFL. In 2010 my club appointed a new coach. Nothing happened for 3 years. In the fourth year things happened. We made finals for 3 years running but had early exits. In 2016 everything went pear shaped. It was back to year one again. Everyone wanted the coaches head, media especially. But outlr board believed in him and stuck fat in 2017 we went on a glorious title winning run of 3 in four years. Managers and teams must be given time.
I am also Australian. You know as well as I do you are comparing apples to oranges.

This saga makes me sick. I wish Ten Hag had taken the Bayern job. I wish he gets another offer in the next few days and leaves. Maybe Chelsea come in for him. Because nobody deseres to be humiliated like this, no matter your opinions on his qualities as a coach.
It took EtH an entire season to understand that inverted wingers are not effective, that he hired a goalkeeper without the natural talents (so often out of position) and that high pressure with a midfield gap doesn't work.

United should give Ten Hag another year, and McKenna should test himself in the Premier League with Ipswich for a year. That would be a win-win for all parties.
When you take a step back and take a look at our beautiful club. I can't recognise it. The soul has been ripped out of it. We man United in name right now.

The soul was ripped out when the Glazers took over. The fans who support them by attending matches and buying club merchandise are equally to blame.
How some people still think the manager is the problem is beyond me. Ten Hag almost made it to the Champions League final with a Dutch club. Van Gaal actually won the champions league with a Dutch club and Mourinho won it with a Portugese club. If they can't do it at United, nobody can.
If Ten hag doesn't get us top 4 next season injuries or not he's gonna have to go
@@BobbyZamora69 That's fair. The FA cup final proved that if he has two decent cb's his tactics work and he will easily make top 4.

How InEos have gone about this is a joke, if they are gonna get rid of him they should have put him out of his misery. This amateur handling of the situation is damaging trust in them and whoever they potentially appoint. When we don't win a thropy next year ETHs record is just be used as a stick to beat them and the next manager.

If one game is enough to decide Ten Hag should stay, then I have many "one games" to convince you Ten Hag should leave.
Get over the Euphoria of a cup win. It's about league success and CL these days.
The scary thing about INEOS sacking ETH is that they obviously planned this all along when they bought the club!!
Mark you are selfish you believe you are the only one who knows better than anyone else you are daft
McKenna would be another Ole......just do anything but don't sack Ten Hag now, give him his deserved chance
It’s already decided. Both ETH, MvdG are departing from MUFC thanks to Ineos and Jim Ratcliff. Interesting reports out of the Netherlands say ETH management are talking to Chelsea (!!)

I respectfully don't trust your opinions simply because you want us to get better but when it comes to the ruthlessness required, you become emotional and look warm. How on earth are we going to compete with other top teams if we keep embracing low ambition and mediocrity like we do. We can agree this could have been handled better but ETH has to go.

Oh yeah let’s get the most ambitious manager in the history of managers in: Gareth Southgate! Good idea lad! 💪

That is the debate we are supposed to have and i too, have plenty doubt about poch, Frank or Southgate. ETH has to go and we can have a debate on best replacement @@pt90
Ineos has realised they can't sell a lot of the deadwood. Players are on massive contracts and will simply refuse to move, like Maguire did. So, Ineos have to be seen to do something, so the only prominent staff member they can get rid of is Ten Hag.
Well observed..👀
Which is exactly what the Glazers would do, and the backlash they'd get from making that decision would be well justified.
I don’t understand why people expect a new manager to instantly turn Man Utd around. It’s going to take time for us to start playing consistently and to actually become a good team again.
You were absolutely convinced that Rashford would start scoring like crazy in the middle of the season
I'm so disgusted if they fire Ten Hag and didn't tell him this would be his last game, so he could have an honour full last game to say buy to the fans.

So eight, bottom of a champions league group, most defeats in a single season, categorically no set identity, worse league finish doing a good job? Kudos for winning the FA Cup by playing literally 30% possession football. That doesn’t mask over the horrendous season we just witnessed

TWO YEARS TWO CUPS WHAT ELSE DOE'S INEOS WANT.
CHANGING MANAGERS WILL NOT DO US ANY GOOD.
Win a cup of importance, finish in the top 4 of the league, implement a style of play that doesn’t see us run through constantly, and stop falling out with players would be a start.
I'm Ten Hag in, but I feel the third year would not be any better if those toxic players are still in the squad.
Ten Hag is the only man utd manager that I really like, after SAF retired.
They are pushing ETH to resign to save the 10mil
That's y they are humiliating him
Totally shocked at United's lack of class over ETH.
Can't wait to play against them next season after they played so well against us after we took our foot off the gas.
As for City when are they getting stripped of their titles and relegated?
I can bet my life on INEOS wanting to sack ETH only because of his transfer plans are too ambitious for them to handle..
We were crying out for a director of football for years..
Now we have a committee of them.
If Sir Jim & INEOS sack Erik Ten Hag.
We must start callibg Sir Jim for what he is:
Mr Jim
That FA Cup victory has thrown a monkey wrench into the Ineos plan to justify sacking ETH. That victory over City was a consolation prize to a disappointing season 🤷🏾♂️.
You will not have any respect if you do not have any respect of yourself. If Ten Hag has any respect. He should walk. The fact is he did not he should not deserve any respect.
People don’t realize that progressing doesn’t mean it’s always going to be better. Progress has ups and downs, peaks and troughs, but overall we are in such a better place than we were when ETH arrived
It literally means getting better 😂😂
If there wasn’t a bias on this channel there could be a fair conversation on this. He has had a terrible season that isn’t just down to injuries , he has played a large part in. Give him till Christmas, no new contract . If he steadies the ship then give him another contract but if not then let him go , the league is important .
It is ETH who is humiliating INEOS
.
How msny managers track their success by the number of years since they did not win a trophy.
INEOS will humiliate themselves if they sack Ten Hag and he goes to another team and does well. INEOS are already embarrassing the club and fans by not backing the fucking manager when he’s just gone and won the bloody FA Cup
We may soon want INEOS OUTEOS!
Mark and his horde are dinosaurs
He is already sacked , he was told before the pre match press conference last week.
His demeanour/body language in the pre match press conference showed that the weight was already off him !
ETH is not being sacked
He has threatened to walk If INEOS do not clear out the squad.
INEOS is scrambling to replace him because they know they will fail in the transfer window and enter the season with no manager.
I feel they’re trying to force him to walk so they don’t pay him
Poch would be a nice option for United, though!
No
I always wonder why berrada is leaving man city to join man utd, no wonder he's got more power and want to run the club by Committee. If this happens, the fans are not respected and that's not Man Utd.
Ferguson, arteta, guariola, klopp. All had messy early seasons. Sometimes it goes badly because the manager is literally smashing down the structures that came before. You can smell out positive change (I feel it under ten hag) A "managerial bounce", as opposed to genuine change, is short term by nature because it's not fueled by structural change but rather thoughts, feelings and emotions. Football teams who can't see this are destined for failure.
Ten Hag should stay!
I just find it so awkward that they don't just come out and say, ''We're going for someone else'' and letting him go. And it's almost as if they're trying to keep Ten Hag as an option in case they can't find someone else.

And we all admire how we won the FA cup yesterday but it was a great counter attacking game so why didn't he play like that the whole season when he didn't have the center backs who can play a high line

Winning two trophies and ETH having the experience of doing that is invaluable and not something you’re going to get with the choices on offer of other managers
It's all rumors at this point.. we really don't know anything.. if you wanted ten haag fired you would want them to be looking at other options prior to the end of the season
I feel like if INEOS didn’t come in and it was solely the Glazers in charge they would just stick with Ten Hag
No Mark, they were not Happily married.
ETH is an adult step child from ineos point of view.
the other side of the issue besides the injuries is that we always have below average transfer windows.
Regarding the respect for the club and staff, obviously the board has none. Nor do they care. Glazers never cared.
So many business men have done wrong in football, because they thought it was a "normal" business. Football has it's own rules and is not to compare with cycling, company business or so. Look what INEOS achieved at Nice in France. Not much.
The loss v palace, the come back by coventry, the multiple thumpings, the fall out with sancho, the antony, mount, onana signings, dressing room unrest ... there's fodder there enuf to sack ETH but still id like if theyd keep him. Hes done alot of good too.
