Congrats on your beautiful reissue! I have the exact same 226 model as yours. I've been collecting Chanel for years, and I think that the reissue is the greatest bag they've ever produced by far. I totally understand what you mean about connection with this style of bag vs the classic flap with the CC. I never got excited about the classic flap pieces, I would purchase boy bags, gst, totes, etc. But once I saw the reissue, I just couldn't stop thinking about it, tried it, and that was all it took. I now own 2 the classic black 226, and a metallic gold 226. For some the style, history, and understated appeal just works, and I am definitely one of the reissue fans. Congrats on your new reissue!

Hi Jenn!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Girl, I can say you will absolutely love it. It really is such a classy and subtle bag that is sooo incredibly beautiful. Since I bought it preloved, it is still in the same condition as it was when I bought it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It is one of my favorite bags. I was planning on doing a What's in my bag of it hopefully in the next couple of weeks. It is my most comfortable bag and suits my body frame the best. Will you buy yours new or preloved? I looked at some new and I wasn't as fond of it because they make the bags more structured and the leather seems not as soft. But it could be because they are brand new. I did ask the SA about the bottoms because they are quite hard compared to the soft and smooshy older versions and she said they are making the bottoms more structured. So it really depends on what you prefer. :) Let me know what you end up doing! :)
Congrats on your new handbag. I was like you initially and didn't think much of the reissue and then suddenly I fell in love and understood their appeal. I have the size smaller than your handbag in the 225 and it's just a great crossbody versatile handbag.
I really like the size when I am trying to go somewhat compact, it fits all my essentials plus sunglasses so I really like that about it. On occasion I wish that I also had a 226 in my collection but I remind myself that really the 225 does what I need it to do so I don't 'need' the 226. Constant struggle. But the reissue is amazing with distressed calf, I feel that it is so carefree and thus liberating and I like the under the radarness of the bag. Enjoy your new handbag!

So I hope to do one after we get settled! I really wanted the silver because it looks so edgy with this bag! But they are hard to find with price I wanted! In the end, I decided to go for gold because it adds a little classy vibe to a edgy look of the distressed leather. Hope that helps!!!
My friend is considering buying a used one and we're trying to authenticate it! It is also the 50th anniversary bag and everything checks out except we can't find a serial sticker inside the bag. It does have the card and it is 8 digits and starts with a 1. Any tips? Thanks!
