  • This week's video is all about how to make friends & the art of building your DREAM friend group. Meaningful connections are super important and I feel that with the rise of social media & tech, it's hard to disconnect from the online world and re-connect with those around us. Of course, there are a ton of valuable tips on how to make friends - this is just some advice & tips from my own experience on making friends & building friend groups.

as someone who is currently in a time of my life where friendship groups are nonexistent, this video rlly spoke to me bc i miss being in a friend group but it also made me realise that friendships don't magically happen. we have to work for it while staying true to ourselves. thanks so much for making this video, it means a lot to us who are struggling to find a friend group

omg I'm so glad you mentioned about building a community, and how too much content is about solo time!! I love spending time alone, solo dates etc and don't need more content to tell me how but I love my friendship group just as much, they're literally my home. humans are made for connection, can't do everything solo. P.S love the new style of content

Agree. Some 1 player games are fun to play solo, though.

OMG- this is actually so helpful, like these tips and tricks are so raw and what ive been looking for 🥰🥰
    1. Be your authentic self: Do things that make you happy. Dont do things that you dont want to do just to fit in. That way, other people with similar interests can come to you, and you both can be happy.
    2. Accept the change that is happening: This means concluding the phase that is ending, and welcome yourself into the new era. You’re going to meet so many different kinds of people throughout life, so its okay to let go of past friendships. You should not hold on to the previous chapters in the past because it will keep you in the past, making it harder to build new friends in the future.
    3. Have an open mind when making new friends: Stop having these thoughts, “I wanna be apart of this girls group”, or “I want my friends to have dyed hair and look like that”. This mindset can prevent you from meeting potential friends who actually can give value to you. You must give them a chance for them to prove that they can be a good friend to you. If you dont like them, then dropped them.
    4. Be curious.
    How to Build A Friendgroup:
    1. Find one person who is also open to building a friend group. Don’t engage yourself into friend groups that already share lots of memories together in the previous chapter.
    2. After friending one person, you both need to start socializing together with other people. The key to find other people is to ensure that the whole group dont know each other.
    3. In the building phase of the friendgroup, be inclusive. Include other people that are interested in you. If you know a group of people that share similar interests with your friend group, introduce them to the group. That way, you all can have a giant friend circle.
    4. Be a good “friend group citizen”: Their role is to keep the group alive and prosper. Ways to do that is take the initiative of making plans, organize hangouts, make time for each other. Be brave to start a conversation, it helps ease the awkward silence. Don’t act quiet in the group, its better to leave the group of you don’t like them rather than wasting your time with them. If you experience a group that lacks deep connections, ask eachother “Get to know you” questions.
Most importantly, treat others the way you want to be treated.
