This song is based off of the time I spent working in the American service industry and the blatant abuse that corporations are allowed to exact on those who work for them. This treatment took a tremendous toll on my mental health, and I've seen and heard countless stories from others who have experienced the same thing. I hope this inspires you to help create change and stand up for workers' rights, or at least helps others who have been/are currently in this situation feel less alone.

Lyrics:
V1:
This concrete building has sucked out my voice
And converted it into stolen energy
These fluorescent lights have replaced the sunshine
And commodified every piece of me that once belonged to a person
But when I'm here, I'm not a person
Chorus:
Give me back my fucking soul
I swear to God, I will end my own life before I find my purpose here
At least I know you'll get no satisfaction
From scooping up my cold, limp body
And sending it on through the trash compactor
So this monolith can chew me up and spit me out
A neatly compressed disposable person
V2:
This greedy world is eating me alive
It starts with my words, then wolfs down my identity
And if I have to sell myself to be free, am I really a person?
Cause when I'm here, I'm not a person
Chorus:
Give me back my fucking soul
I swear to God, I will end my own life before I find my purpose here
At least I know you'll get no satisfaction
From scooping up my cold, limp body
And sending it on through the trash compactor
So this monolith can chew me up and spit me out
A neatly compressed disposable person
Bridge:
I want to be more than a well-oiled engine made to take shit until I break
I want to be more than a piece of the inside of a concrete building
I want to be more than my fantasies of bleeding out while I'm still alive
Cause at least then I'd be a person
And when I'm here I'm not a person
