*Warning: Extremely Long Late Night Rant* Besides ShikaTema, this is the only pairing in Naruto that had time and suspense to build up in the series. How NaruHina and SasuSaku happened out of nowhere in one movie makes no sense whatsoever; throughout the series, Sasuke practically considered Sakura the bane of his existence while Naruto largely ignored Hinata. I mean, all of that innuendo, suspense, and bonding that happened between these two just for it to be destroyed in one movie really works my nerves. While he wanted to be acknowledged by the village for being more than the carrier of the fox spirit, Naruto was more obsessed with being acknowledged by, befriending, and understanding Sasuke more than anyone else in the story. He was even willing to give up his dream of becoming Hokage if he couldn't save his friend from the Curse of Hatred and die with him. While Sasuke was gone, not an episode went by without Naruto thinking of him at least once while wondering if the former was thinking of him also. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. Even with some of my closest friends, I'm never that obsessed over what they're doing every second of the day. Also, I know I'm going to make some people mad with what I'm about to say next, but I'm actually more upset with Kishimoto for not making this ship cannon than the editors who told him otherwise (who, by the way, are more than welcome to kiss every single cell of the inside and outside of my ass for their homophobia). I believe Kishimoto should have fought harder to make Sasuke end up with Naruto if that is what he really wanted in his heart of hearts. When they were falling to the lava (when Kaguya appears) Naruto tells Sasuke to save Sakura and Kakashi, but Sasuke, even knowing that Sakura and Kakashi were falling directly to the lava, he turned back and firmly decided to go for Naruto. Then he tells Naruto that he will only save and protect Naruto if it’s necessary and that Naruto is the only person that he cares about. He says that it’s because they both are the only ones who can defeat Kaguya, but we all know that he had special feelings for Naruto. I even laughed when Sakura was pierced by Madara and Sasuke’s first word was “Naruto” 😆. (Sorry if I made mistakes, google translate was my only reference 😅)
