When he asks "in your opinion what is their best album?" and the chat gives 5 different answers in 6 messages lol. Cant disagree with any of them though :)))
From a purely musical nerd perspective The Stage is their best album by a mile but from an a7x fan perspective I think their best album is either self-titled or nightmare because of many classic bangers were on them.
Not counting pre-Waking the Fallen, I think they've been exceptionally consistent in the quality of their albums. My favorite can change depending on my mood and which song I'm listening to but I think generally Nightmare and The Stage are at the top for me.
Same. Tbh the only albums I would say aren’t great are hail to the king and sounding the seventh trumpet, and they both still have some great songs on them.
Why not pre-WtF? I really really like some of the songs off of StST. It's really hard to say what my favourite album is. Nightmare, CoE, WtF, Self-Titled and The Stage all have incredible songs. It would have to be between those first 4 for me, I really can't choose.
i love how you asked fans for their favorite albums, and then proceeded to mention it seems all over the place, and then every message in chat rigth after was a completely different album
For me, their best album… Its Between The Stage, Nightmare, Self Titled, and Waking the Fallen. The stage has Such awesome Guitar Work, Nightmare and Self titled is So Fun to Listen to, and Waking the Fallen is A Good Headbanger of a Album.
Most of their albums are of extremely high quality front to back, the only ones that won't be frequently given as an answer for their best album are Hail and Seventh Trumpet. Personally, my favorite album can depend on my mood but in general my answer will be Waking the Fallen, but sometimes it's City of Evil. You can't go wrong with either of those albums. I also love the Self-Titled and The Stage.
I think Nightmare is my #1 avenged album. Partially cause of the memories is brings back. Musically wise, I think feel like you could tell they kinda found their way.
For me, Top 3 might be : 1. City of Evil(Their Peak Performance) 2. Nightmare(in Honor for the Rev and Each songs somehow represent the Stage of Grief) 3. The Stage(I can't believe myself. Not saying it's Bad. It's Awesome. A bit of a Mix also a little above than Hail to the King)
Seems the common consensus in terms of album popularity is that if you were fans of the band since their earlier albums (WTF/CoE) most will say Nightmare is their best (Which is my opinion). But with a lot of people who found the band post Hail to the King will say that The Stage is their best album. A lot of people will also say that The Stage is their most "technically complex" album though The Stage doesn't really do much for me at all.
Waking the fallen and the stage are my favorites with waking the fallen being better. Then probably nightmare, and then city of evil. Then self titled and sounding the seventh trumpet. In last is hail to the king.
As a huge A7X fan there’s no such thing as “their best album” since as you said, everyone has a different opinion. I love Nightmare, their self titled, Hail to the King, and their latest, Life is But a Dream. But at the same time I’ve loved all their albums since they always change things up. They can do almost anything at this point lol.
You know a band has a good discography when the fans can never agree on what their best album is😆 I think the objectively correct answer is Nightmare if not simply for all of the added emotion and heaviness surrounding the song's subject matter and the Rev's passing. My personal top 3 A7X albums though are The Stage, Nightmare, and Self-titled. City of Evil is great too, but it's slightly too long and M. Shadow's voice can be very grating on that record especially.
My favorite album from purely a sit down and listen perspective would easily be city of evil. My favorite to play along to would be the self totled white album. 80% of that record is pure groove and i grt an extremely strong Pantera/groove metal vibe off of it which is my jam 🤘🤘
I think Nightmare is their best produced album and their most congruent from front to back. I do believe that majority of the blistering drum parts and guitar work the old school fans love exist on City of Evil. Most of the fills on that album are just not sane to be honest. The drum work on The Stage was equally as impressive…and I would argue that in their completion from front to back; Nightmare and The Stage stand on top… However…I personally think Waking the fallen had the best guitar riffs.
To answer your question, my rankings goes like this 1. City of Evil 2. Waking the Fallen 3. Nightmare 4. The Stage 5. Self-Titled 6. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet 7. Hail to the King
Chainbrain: "Just follow me everywhere" You laugh but i followed you from your house to your local drive tru and back again today. Currently in the bushes across the street. 🔭 God damn it. I had to put a telescope emoji became my stupid phone doesn't have a binoculars one. 😅
I am already subbed here but I dont have money to sub on twitch and for me, each album of A7X has its weird place to fill, you want more metalcore and less shreddy? First album. Metalcore with Shred? Second. Want to feel like you are going to Vegas and about to destroy yourself with drugs and alcohol while shredding and banging your head off? City of Evil. Wanna get weird and proggy? Selft Titled and The Stage, Want just pure anger and hatred? Nightmare. And the Hail To the King album is pretty Meh to be but has a few good apples.. ... Love your content, Synyster ChainBrain
Favorite album* would be either City Of Evil or Self-titled, leaning toward Self-titled. *I think Waking The Fallen is the only album I've heard in its entirety, though every album has songs I like, songs I dislike, and songs I have no interest in listening to based on the samples I've heard. Self-titled probably has the most liked songs for me.
May favorite A7X album changes so much, as of right now I would say it’s The Stage but it has been Nightmare and City of Evil, I’m sure soon enough it will be back to Nightmare but it changes so frequently I really never can point to one
my favourite album of theirs is probably either city of evil, waking the fallen, the stage, nightmare and hail to the king. i like hail to the king a lot even though it gets a lot of shit.
I hear ya. Not much about Hail is super musically mind blowing, but it’s a super cool tribute to all their influences. Some of the songs are bangers too!
Most People I think will say City Of Evil is the best album, but I personally think the White Album(Self titled) is their best. Just depends on when people got into them and what songs connect the most with them.
I know most of the best albums are preference but in my experience most people favor City of Evil, Nightmare, and most of the white album. The rest is either bad or not mostly agreed to be the best
City of Evil is their peak in my opinion (even though Shadows voice was pretty annoying on that album in some spots), then Nightmare would be a close 2nd place.
My favorites would depend on the mood. Nightmare if I’m looking for dark and thrashy, also for the whole last rev album deal. But self titled and city of evil never disappoint me
Have to be controversial here (maybe?) in saying I do not like 'A little piece of heaven', jimmys parts are cool though. But other than that I really like the Self Titled. Still doesn´t beat City of Evil and that banger of a song 'Blinded in Chains' from the Most Wanted soundtrack :)
My favorite is waking the fallen. then city of evil and stst. the others have a good mix of songs, but some i dont care for at all. didnt care for the stage as a whole
When he asks "in your opinion what is their best album?" and the chat gives 5 different answers in 6 messages lol. Cant disagree with any of them though :)))
I'd disagree with HttK 😂
@@iDrunkRSidk why that album gets so hate it was an homage to their favourite bands
From a purely musical nerd perspective The Stage is their best album by a mile but from an a7x fan perspective I think their best album is either self-titled or nightmare because of many classic bangers were on them.
Exactly what I think. The Stage is musically their best hands down. And it grows on me more every year.
Agreed 💯
Not counting pre-Waking the Fallen, I think they've been exceptionally consistent in the quality of their albums. My favorite can change depending on my mood and which song I'm listening to but I think generally Nightmare and The Stage are at the top for me.
Same
Same. Tbh the only albums I would say aren’t great are hail to the king and sounding the seventh trumpet, and they both still have some great songs on them.
Same
But I’ll add the self titled to that,
It’s just AMAZING (tbh a little piece of heaven is enough by itself to take the self titled to my top 3)
No way no one is saying CoE.
Why not pre-WtF? I really really like some of the songs off of StST. It's really hard to say what my favourite album is. Nightmare, CoE, WtF, Self-Titled and The Stage all have incredible songs. It would have to be between those first 4 for me, I really can't choose.
The A7X arc continues
HAHAHAHAAHA
3:41 “it seems the fans are all over the place”
Chat: gives 7 different answers
Waking The Fallen, City of Evil, and the Self Iitled is an excellent run. Hard to pick between them, all 10/10 imo.
their best work is both city of evil and the stage, the musicality level in both album is very high
i love how you asked fans for their favorite albums, and then proceeded to mention it seems all over the place, and then every message in chat rigth after was a completely different album

their self titled album is my favourite but choosing a best is really difficult 😂 I love them all 🤘🤘
Nightmare -> The Stage -> Self-Titled = City of Evil -> Hail to the King -> Waking the Fallen -> Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
City of Evil is the reason I'm a musician so it has to be my favorite
For me, Top 3 might be :
1. City of Evil(Their Peak Performance)
2. Nightmare(in Honor for the Rev and Each songs somehow represent the Stage of Grief)
3. The Stage(I can't believe myself. Not saying it's Bad. It's Awesome. A bit of a Mix also a little above than Hail to the King)
I love coe but cant stand matts vocals compared to literally any other album (excluding stst)
This one and Buried Alive are my fave A7X songs ever. I love the vocals and the riffs are so dope.
Seems the common consensus in terms of album popularity is that if you were fans of the band since their earlier albums (WTF/CoE) most will say Nightmare is their best (Which is my opinion). I'm mad I missed this stream but so happy he finally played my fave A7X song!! hE's BeCoMiNg A fAn!!
Waking the fallen and the stage are my favorites with waking the fallen being better. Then probably nightmare, and then city of evil. Then self titled and sounding the seventh trumpet. In last is hail to the king.
The Big Three:
Waking the Fallen
City of Evil
Nightmare
Chain got that stank face a few times during those badass riffs lol hes an official A7x fan now right?
no comment lmao :D
Been waiting for this for a while, loved the early stream btw
Edit: Also Nightmare was my introduction and favourite album of a7x
“I hate A7X” *continues to make A7X content * 💀💀💀
As a huge A7X fan there’s no such thing as “their best album” since as you said, everyone has a different opinion. WOOOOHOOO YOU DID IT!!!! hahaha. Fucking love this song
City of Evil and Waking the Fallen. Classics
City of Evil and Nightmare are my favourites from them, Waking the Fallen and The Stage are both close behind them.
Self titled is my fav. The white one.
I like stage and wtf a lot though.
My favorite album from purely a sit down and listen perspective would easily be city of evil. My favorite to play along to would be the self totled white album. 80% of that record is pure groove and i grt an extremely strong Pantera/groove metal vibe off of it which is my jam 🤘🤘
1-The Stage
2-CoE/Nightmare
3-WTF/SelfTitled
4-HttK
5-Ditr/Stst
Next second heartbeat sir
OHHH FINALLY MY REQUESTED SONG ON TWITCH😂😂
I think Nightmare is their best produced album and their most congruent from front to back. I do believe that majority of the blistering drum parts and guitar work the old school fans love exist on City of Evil. Most of the fills on that album are just not sane to be honest. The drum work on The Stage was equally as impressive…and I would argue that in their completion from front to back; Nightmare and The Stage stand on top…

Finally, my request song 🤟😎
To answer your question, my rankings goes like this
1. City of Evil
2. Waking the Fallen
3. Nightmare
4. The Stage
5. Self-Titled
6. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
7. Hail to the King
This song is so much fun to play along too. And this chart isnt as terrible as most A7X charts.

Nightmare is the best album for me
oh for sure, it's just the perfect point in their evolution, fueled by emotions and immensely powerful
May favorite A7X album changes so much, as of right now I would say it’s The Stage but it has been Nightmare and City of Evil, I’m sure soon enough it will be back to Nightmare but it changes so frequently I really never can point to one
My*
exactly but my top 3 is always coe nightmare and the stage
my favourite album of theirs is probably either city of evil, waking the fallen, the stage, nightmare and hail to the king. i like hail to the king a lot even though it gets a lot of shit.
I hear ya. Not much about Hail is super musically mind blowing, but it’s a super cool tribute to all their influences. Some of the songs are bangers too!
My favorite album is still City of Evil. Just banger after banger. I think The Stage is my second favorite.
My favorite album is probably nightmare followed closely by city of evil.
My top 3 would probably have to be
1 City if Evil, 2 The Stage, 3 Nightmare
you should do a rating at the end of each song like out of 10 or something
City of Evil is their peak in my opinion (even though Shadows voice was pretty annoying on that album in some spots), then Nightmare would be a close 2nd place.
It’s really all preference for best album but I think it’s City of Evil
Waken the fallen and city of evil is their best albums in my opinion
I have to say Waking the Fallen is my favorite but I really like 90% of the songs A7X puts out
Waken the Fallen is their best album followed by City of Evil.
ohhh that intro sounded bad lmao
However great cover, always blows my mind how your brain processes the screen so fast
My favorites would depend on the mood. Nightmare if I’m looking for dark and thrashy, also for the whole last rev album deal. But self titled and city of evil never disappoint me
Would you say you've finally come out the A7X closet??? Hey man, it happens to the best of us.
I think their best album is either Nightmare, or City of Evil.
Has he done The Wicked End? That solo is tasty
Ya he did
I like all A7X albums as one
This song is actually a banger let's be real🤘
Have to be controversial here (maybe?) in saying I do not like 'A little piece of heaven', jimmys parts are cool though. But other than that I really like the Self Titled. Still doesn´t beat City of Evil and that banger of a song 'Blinded in Chains' from the Most Wanted soundtrack :)
The Stage
waking the fallen
city of evil
self tilted
nightmare
the stage
libad
diamond in the rough
hail to the king
stst
My favorite is waking the fallen. then city of evil and stst. the others have a good mix of songs, but some i dont care for at all. didnt care for the stage as a whole
From Waking The Fallen to some of Nightmare is my favorite after Nightmare is where I lost interest. I tried listening to them after I cant do it haha
There I am with full health
play something from Pinkly Smooth
Hi
A7X have never been as good as City of Evil. There's been a few good songs, but everything since Nightmare has been pretty bad.
dont think they have a best. the albums are that diverse theres like too much to chose from
