The difference is that though your child will be 50% your DNA, they can have that 50% divided any way between your parents. Like your 50% can be divided 40% your mom DNA and 10% your dad DNA or 15% your mom DNA and 35% your dad's DNA. It's a very complex thing. That's how full blood siblings' blood can have extremely different ancestry, where one could be 30% Irish, another 10%, and the last none.
