      It is not always about the money and he is very humble. I mean he just solved a rubic cube in 3 minutes doing an interview, he could be like "yep that is the one" but they will not let him keep it.

    • @MasterMayhem78
      @MasterMayhem78 7 років тому +9

      Petr Drahoňovský Also, he only looked at the cube about half the time.

    • @ballsrgrossnugly
      @ballsrgrossnugly 7 років тому +35

      You only need to look about half the time, the other half is spent going through algorithms to get the piece you want to the place you want it.
      I can do a solve in about 2 min. It isn't that hard once you learn how, and there are enough videos on this very site to teach you.
      While talking though? That's a different story,
      I always end up distracted, make a wrong move and am too distracted know what it was and have to start over!
      Respect to the Prattster.

      +E deny the RFID chip. it's the mark of the beast. Don't take it no matter what. get right with God. repent and turn to Jesus. be born again. If you take the mark you'll perish. You lose your salvation! You cannot repent if you take the mark. Its a chip injected IN your right hand. Read a KJV Bible. Jesus WARNS In revelation its INjected in your right or left hand and IN your forehead. Look it up. KJV only! Repent and believe. be saved. time is running out. He is coming to rapture.

    People talk about how relatable Jennifer Lawrence is, but I think Chris Pratt is even better. He knows magic, can speed run a Rubiks cube and has no qualms about just acting like a normal person and joking around. One of my favorite actors right now.

      Kelly & OreGaming I know, but there's not that much logic and thinking in doing the Rubik's cube, because once you know the mechanism it's fairly easy, so it's not a big matter of time.
      I don't think he would normally solve it in under two minutes.
      Disclaimer: I'm not saying Chris Pratt is a bad actor, for all the haters that will pop here and insult

      Once you learn the proper algorithms and spend enough time solving cubes, it becomes easy enough that you only need to look at it a few times. Any cuber will know the algorithms well enough to do the majority of each step with their eyes closed. I scramble and solve them all day at work for stress relief - it's my 'fidget cube.' It's especially fun when it blows customers' minds, but the thing is... really anyone who wants to learn to solve one could do it.

      the technique at turning without looking at the cube is to memorize its case solutions or what we cubers called algorithm's. if you can memorize all the notations and of an algorithm, you can execute it without looking at the cube letting your muscle memory handle it.

    • @darrenskinner3711
      @darrenskinner3711 6 років тому +1

      Critical thinking is the objective analysis of facts to form a judgement. It is essentially a semantic process that involves the rational, skeptical, unbiased analysis or evaluation of factual evidence. A Rubiks cube on the other hand is a maths problem pure and simple. You would no more try to use critical thinking skills to solve a Rubiks cube than you would to figure out how many rolls of wallpaper might be needed to finish a decorating job. It's just math. Knowing how to do it, as you say, is learning the math and then applying that knowledge to the problem at hand.

      abbyT So a Rubik’s cube happens to be one of those cases where the brand becomes so popular that the actual object becomes synonymous with it. That doesn’t mean that other brands don’t manufacture them though. The other guy was saying that Chris wouldn’t get so many “lock ups” (the jams that occur when you try to turn it but it’s not perfectly lined up with the grid) if he were using a better manufacturer than Rubiks, which in this case would be a Shensou cube.

    For cubers (at least one who has practiced for about a year, I have about 5) this is actually really easy to do, I will often hold full conversations with people while I solve, it's just looking at one part, realizing the case/step, and then muscle memory takes it from there. Takes less than a second of focus to do it.

      I usually just get frustrated, smash it and reassemble it the right way. It's one way of solving it.
