Honestly really good run for your first try at 20min! Probably took me a dozen tries or more to get my first 20min. One thing to note for day1 is that 5 is the highest HP for any non-boss enemy, so pumping damage higher than that is somewhat wasted since most of the run is fighting normal enemies. Also the way i got the "die at the same time as a boss" achievement was with the attack that explodes on kill and does 2 damage to adjacent tiles (including you)
NGL, my first time trying for this achievement, I had a very similar experience to yours. If you want some advice, here's mine: Ignore combo related upgrades, they aren't worth it. Defense shop is a LOT better considering the fact you get twice as much max HP to work with, basically, defense shop are as good as combo shops can be in day 7 Also, most of the time loss is during hallway fights (especially with archers and shield guys), so make sure as many of your weapons are hitting enemy HP breakpoints (when considering what to upgrade)
39:50 no clue, but it says "day streak". maybe it adds up the total days of value you've won in a row, so you've won two day 7s (last two shogun videos), and then you won a day 1 after (this video), making your streak 15 days
I think I've seen another yt get a lot of fast runs (they played fast first then went for no hits later) and they usually got straightforward high dmg simple attacks like arrow with 3dmg and low cooldown
@@Khaim.m you can, the problem is that they ALL trigger at the same time even if the first trap would have done the job. In fact, they trigger so simultaneously that it sometimes makes it look like it only dealt the damage once, because the damage number perfectly overlaps with the other damage number! (The damage number I'm referring to is the one that pops up when an enemy takes damage)
I wonder if Kunai is even good for 20 minute runs. Yeah, Kunai can be a strong tile, but the attack animation takes so much time Also, the way I got the "Honorable Death" quest was with the defensive skill "Karma" (When an enemy hits you, deal back the same amount of damage)
Dude I was speed running while watching this and got my best time 20:23 how is 20min possible? The run had a 0 timer, double strike, 3 damage, swirl 5 damage something timer arrow normal grapple and -3 timer teleport to center And I took the same path as you Edit: what if you used the shadow since he moves all the way instead of the one cell that the wanderer does?
I usually go the other way with rerolling and do it too much +1 damage +1 cooldown just feels so bad man but then I'm down 30 bucks by the time I'm done rolling
When it comes to shrines, my opinion is that -1 cooldown is the worst upgrade in the game because it offers the least value and you should reroll it every time looking for +1 damage, -2 cooldown, an enchantment, or an upgrade slot. I’d even take +1 damage/+1 cooldown any day over that. I think of it like Berserker’s sides in S&D. You’re picking him for the 4 damage pain, not the 1 damage cleave. Yeah, sometimes the pain side is unclickable, but 1 damage cleave is not moving the needle, and you can unga bunga your way through most fights before the downside catches up with you. Also I’m glad you saw firsthand how terrible those tiles are that only hit 2 spaces away. Way too hard to get value out of them. Not ideal for going fast.
@@INStheRebel I think that, arguably, the worse upgrade in the game is sometimes +1 slot upgrade, because sometimes you don't even get to use that extra slot! And the shopkeepers seem to agree too; it's the cheapest upgrade in the game, having a starting gold cost of only 10 gold compared to the others that start at 20 gold But yeah, -1 cooldown is pretty terrible and is almost always worth rerolling

I actually really enjoyed the go fast shogun video, was cool seeing a different style of llay

It’s me :)
I pointed out the day hp boost thing :)
Oh no streamer, you're playing it on difficulty 1! Oh no! A disgrace! :D
Good content!
I was initailly worried about a 20 min speedrun acheivement being a 40 min video, then i saw that the timer only counts in fights
Yes, but the fight starts as soon as the scene transitions. So standing around listening to the boss yap counts against your time.

I'm still waiting for the gun

I can't even process the speed at which you are capable of playing this game.
14:00 You absolutely can stack traps. Where did you get the idea you couldn't?
(Still a bad tile for speed though, reroll was correct.)

Achievement required him to win in 20 minutes or less yet the video is 40 minutes
Curious

Mr streamer are trying to become a speedrun ss gamer
