    Where can you purchase original equipment carburetors for a reasonable price ??? This is a real down to earth video you have done Sir. Well thought out and facts to boot.

      Thank you, You can try STENS for most parts.
      Things will get expensive fast, especially these days. In some cases its worth it.
      Its a great question and I've been thinking about it again.
      For smaller engines say 2 strokes, what is original equipment? Most companies are Chinese anyway.
      Walbro and others I've seen but I am seeing names I don't know for original equipment.
      Thanx fer watchin

      I luv these stories! Thanks for sharing!
      Yup, briggs carbs are the best but often I find aftermarket works well! I use the HIPA carbs but I have had some issues.. They respond to my requests quickly.. I always open them up 1st and check before I use them!

    I bought a snapper 281016be for $250, and it ran good until I ran over some leaves and it stalled. When I turn the key over sometimes it’ll make a buzzing noise or it won’t make any noise at all. I’m not a mechanic but hoping some UA-cam tutorials will help me get it working, any idea where I should start looking at?

    • @TheNovaJohn
      @TheNovaJohn  6 місяців тому +1

      Sure,,, Start with charging the battery! Check it as well, it should be 12 volts at least so check it before and after you charge it.
      Clean the battery terminals and connectors with a wire brush.
      From there you will need to go deeper and ya gonna want to watch some videos on this.
      I do have a video in the folder on electrical

      I have them, you see this machine in other videos too, runs great now.
      this tank is high enough and a pretty good shot to the carb so its fine.

    Just got a 10 28 back from the shop with a new control brackett. It will only start with gas sprayed into the carb. It runs for a few seconds, smokes alot and then cuts off. There may be some reversion too. Does anyone know how I might fix this?

    • @TheNovaJohn
      @TheNovaJohn  11 місяців тому

      wow,, well its way to much to write here and I do have many videos on going over engines..
      check your compression and valves and if all that is ok then rebuild the carb.

    I just bought one of these and mine seems to have a choke stick that is pulled up to engage and the machine won’t run without it being pulled.

    • @TheNovaJohn
      @TheNovaJohn  2 роки тому

      Sounds like its time to pull the carb and rebuild it or replace it!!

    What spark plug and gap is OEM?

    • @TheNovaJohn
      @TheNovaJohn  Рік тому +1

      It depends Tim,,
      I've seen NGK and Champion Plugs, Even Briggs logo's on these.. Remember there were a few different motors used. Check you motor number.
      That number is either on the pull starter/blower cover or the Rocker Cover and sometimes on a side cover..Again that depends on the engine type and size and date

      @@timtweet8149 Thanks Tim,,yea it can be annoying with these machines, I don't know why snapper got sloppy like this but back in the day, a snapper mechanic probably knew enough that he didn't care..
      Not the end of the world though..Check out the other videos in this series, They are in a folder and more are coming soon!
