I guess its okay when its new, but I'd always suggest to replace the o ring seal when you replace the battery after a few years, at least to source one and lubricate it with silicone oil. Also watch the groove where the o ring seated, both the groove and the backplate, clean it with cotton swab damped with alcohol. Little details like that could lengthen your watch life, especially with quartz watches, beause a tiny speck of water could total its movement.

Where the other colors are a very nice reference of nostalgic are the black models in my eyes a pretty nice modern watch what could be, with some care and luck, a once buy in a lifetime…

It’s the perfect stretch between old or better classic fashion but made for the modern days with the step tracker and Bluetooth connectivity without the loss of changing the battery we have here a pretty robust watch that could survive quit a lot….
I use normally an Apple Watch and will not miss it anymore and cuz i am pretty minimalistic (it’s still an Apple Watch 3😅) too I usually don’t buy stuff that is just secondary in use but cuz of this package plus the point that my really much loved uncle wears the very first og model of this design since I can remind (i am 39) i will buy this watch, it’s not that expensive for what it offer and it’s just a thing I will for sure keep for my whole life as reminder to my uncle and of cuz as my secondary watch…
And I will also buy a second in the iconic design to already have it when he will past away (hopefully far away from now) some day cuz this would be a gift to his grave just cuz an old well known family story where we have buried an old Walkman from me in the ground where now is his house…
It’s just a very important symbol for me and I just want to give him this back in the end cuz he just deserve it and everybody would understand that gift…🙂

Good video, thanks. Also got the ABL-100 recently. Could not find where my stopwatch records show in the Casio mobile app, even though Casio claim this as a function on their website. Although there's no official WR rating for the ABL-100, I'd still recommend wiping clean and reapplying some fresh silicone grease to the gasket. I use a Speed Lubricator tub designed for o-rings, nothing else ;-)

@@BOMBON187 It is still on the original battery and I would expect it to last at least 3 years. Watch is not waterproof but water resistant.

@@nathanaelsmith3553 TBH I’ve heard about it but haven’t looked too much into it until now. It looks like they have added some hardware and the ability to hack the software but taken away the alarm and stopwatch. It’s not really for me but good luck to them.

Интересно, casio специально занижает уровень водозащиты для уменьшения претензий со стороны пользователей и кто нибудь делал тесты на живучесть этих часов в водной среде? Есть ролики, где люди показательно купаются в F-91 с обычной водостойкостью WR и часы не ломаются. Быть может, тут похожая ситуация, но производитель умышленно разносит линейки для стимуляции покупки серии g-shock, кому принципиальна защита от воды?!
С помощью F-91 можно легко спуститься на глубину до 30 метров. Это глубже, чем большинство людей ныряют.
Многое зависит от маркетинга. Основной ущерб наносится, когда люди не ополаскивают часы пресной водой после купания, как в море, так и в бассейне. Соль и химикаты убивают часы быстрее, чем вода.
Good but you can't use bare fingers on a watch movement.
Do a waterproof test now. Stick it underwater after you swap the battery…..
It's splash proof.
For me nothing new actually. Timex has it in the same fashion.
