Looks great! I really gotta get up to jay some day. Those chutes look like the closest thing to skiing out west that we have over here (with the exception of maybe the snowfields of sugarloaf and saddleback)
I'm definitely enjoying this zone at Jay now that I've got a bit more familiarity. Hoping to hit some of the more unusual/steeper lines on the Face next season but the reality is I don't get to Jay as frequently as Smuggs. Selfishly I wouldn't have minded if Jay was a 5/7 day Ikon partner...
Looks warm this week. I figure if the face/tucks chutes are open the ridge will be fair game too. Coverage is going to disappear on that first rocky section pretty quick in full sun though.
Pumphouse was still skiable today 4/9. The saddle wasn't really skiable due to lack of snow. Face chutes looked skiable too but remained close the whole day. The stairs to the ridge were roped off in the morning but opened up later when things softened up. Cover was pretty good on pumphouse but the lower narrower part was icy due to a bunch of little kids on the "freeride" team side sliding it. It was really a poor choice by the instructor bringing the kids on that trail because they definitely weren't ready for it.
