Web Performance Tracking is a game changer. Combined with the LightHouse scorecard changes made late last year, Google is really improving the performance transparency for PWAs. Keep up the great work!!
Have you gotten the current version of Firebase to work cleanly with Flutter? Out of the box, the current APIs seem to be broken or at least inconsistent and difficult to use.
I just learned to use Firebse to make the web by applying firebase technology as my college assignment. but there are questions from the examiner. "what about the web server when using firebase technology?"
You showed running an Android app against the local emulator for firestore and firebase functions. This is really cool and exactly what I'm looking for. However I can't find anywhere how to configure my Android or iOS app to run against the local emulator. Can you point me in to the right direction?
Yeah, this isn't well documented atm as far as I can tell. firebase.google.com/docs/functions/local-emulator has some information about how to setup your emulators. The CLI will print out the addresses of the functions and Firestore on your local machine. You should then be able to use that to configure your Android/iOS app.
Fahad Shah you definitely couldn't do that before. Half of all the stack overflow questions were about how to do that and everyone recommended structuring your data so you wouldn't have to load multiple sub collections
But why people suggest to use firebase only in initial sate because startups sometime do not have time and team, after some time you have to switch from it
Realtime database is the old mature Firebase database product that has a few scaling bottleneck. Some people reached its scaling bottleneck and need to shard or migrate. These suggestions are referring to realtime database. Cloud Firestore, however, is the new product that addressed these scaling bottlenecks. It should scale up to planet scale with no additional changes required.
Most rude support group is firebase support group. Either they just ignore questions or use rude language to criticize user coding. Just visit stackoverflow and search firebase and you can see how rude they are

Awesome you guys added schedule functions now, we've been waiting for it. Keep up the great work!
First & massive advocate of Firebase!!! 🔥
So still no geo points queries? I can't think of anything more important right now and easy to fix
Great presentation. I would still love to see a backup feature for firestore
Does firebase "serve" support node's experimental modules flag? How can the flag be used in package.json?
Now we need a schema migration tool

10:13 great moment! Congrats firebase team! I'm a firestore user :D

yep, I'm looking for the same, I mean... I'm guessing we have to change the firebase url for the localhost url and that's it?
11:35 Collection Group Queries: You can already do that with Firestore. What part of that is a new feature?
Fahad Shah you definitely couldn't do that before. Half of all the stack overflow questions were about how to do that and everyone recommended structuring your data so you wouldn't have to load multiple sub collections
Wow! G & Firebase is really changing our (devs) worlds
Congratulations for 200k.
Thank you for video! Does firebase analytics is ready for subscription monetization model?
