To be fair to Gujjus, getting pure vegetarian food in other countries can be a serious challenge. I never realized this and used to judge Indians looking for Indian restaurants in beautiful European countries thinking why don't they try the local cuisine? Then I realized finding vegetarian options and that too tasty ones is a real struggle!

The reason tht it's a common practice in Gujratis for carrying those dry snacks with shelf life is that since ancient times people from the region of Gujrat have been traders traveling to different states and countries and continents away from home for long period of time hence the practice of having a large verity of durable food items that they can carry with them for days .

And yes in every hotel where we stay throughout our tour their is a separate section of food only for tour members that too jain food all 3 meals plus ample of snacks which while we return gets full into a small suitcase.. ❤❤

@7:14 As a proud Gujarati, let me explain. As Gujarati people have been pure vegetarian for the longest time, we did not trust outside food and also the distinct taste of home cooked meals was the reason behind this. Even in Gujarat, every region has its own taste and we people are so obsessed with it, we just cannot live without the taste. I know it’s a bit too much but that’s the reality. I remember going to a friend’s house and they offered me some snacks. They come from different region of Gujarat and I didn’t like the taste of it. 😂😂😂

I was on a 🚢 that ran between Athens and Santorini. We were in the section for first class passengers. It was quiet and people sipped at their 🍸 while looking at the beautiful sunset through the bay windows. And then a newly married Gujju couple ambled in talking loudly. They were eating out of an instant noodles tub. The guy told his wife that she was brilliant because she had brought a suitcase full of cup o noodles or they would have starved in Europe. After a while watching the little islands go past, he asked her which island did she want him to buy. This part he made sure to say in English, very loudly.
The criticism of the country and its people was in Hindi or Gujarati.

Just a point in favor of distribution of condoms in college is in India marriage is allowed after you get 18 but judged on sex when you are in college. Approximately you have crossed the age when you get in college so it's a good opinion to normalise things during the college time so as we get older the next generation will be open and more aware of those things.

Just because non-Indians say that being a vegetarian and teetotaler doesn't fit in our society doesn't mean we should start accepting their culture to appease them. There is nothing wrong with following vegetarian Vaishnav culture especially if you are a Gujarati. Vishnu is our saviour.

I had the privilege of being copassanger with a gujju family twice during my journey to Delhi and Puri by train. Both times, they offered me whatever they had in their 'pantry' 😊 with a open heart.

Gujarat used to be a dry state 70's and 80's and the Airlines used to serve free alcohol gujju's travelling from Gujarat to Mumbai carried food and drank like crazy 😧 and would fall apart and throw up . I stopped flying Air india . International flight with an aircraft full of gujju's was impossible even business class and First class.

I have only met once with a Gujju family, was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Howrah from the train, a train got derailed (as is the new trend) so we had to get a bus from the previous station to Howrah, ahhh now comes the gujju family they have thrice the bags then passengers hoarding up all the seats in bus, keeping luggage on the seats, screaming loudly, jamming gates and allowing only their family members and why the f they travel in a group of 9000 peoples?? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

These same Gujrati, Marwadi families are largely responsible for bad reputation of Indians in South Asians countries and again bad treatment to people in service. To whatever extent you try to defend, and even if people come to comment on this and defend the behavior. Little introspection and civility will help.

They Stick to Veg especially homemade any where on the planet , saving money nothing wrong. Most of them are rigid don't explore other cultures, food etc. Obsessed with caste , place where they belong to an extent that have their colonies named to it. Uttar gujarat patel society, saurashtra patel society and so on.

    I live in US.. Gujju…
Few years ago me and my gf went to visit Alaska.. we were total 10 friends where 4 of us are vegetarian… my gf brought thepla, dhokla and handvo for us.. and it was great as we all enjoyed and food.. and best part was there was crazy scene where non-vegetarians also have some food related concerns so they all relied on thepla… so moral of the story we gujju think generously for all even if others stereotype and make fun of us…
my grandfather used to tell that in the world there are only 2 types of people GUJJUS & NON-GUJJUS… and gujjus are the best…
Cut to this year, I went to solo trip to Zion national park… after a famous strenuous hike at the peak of Angels Landing, I met few gujju girls… we had a conversation and randomly they offered me Thepla out of their meal box… I was so happy as I forgot to bring my own thepla but still I had some at the peak of Angels Landing…
    Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat…

@@Sankkhamkar10 agree but it’s not just gujjus, I live in Cali and lived previously in Texas.. there are other Indians as well… I don’t support any illegal migration… this is about the generosity and culture of gujjus and their food. I don’t want to digress from the topic.
