I actually liked Deontay a lot (less after his excuses) and he's really raised his game in terms of his speech and his public 'self.' He made some profound points in the interview about head trauma, etc. And particularly about tight friends suddenly asking for money, etc.
What I don't like besides the excuses after his TKO loss- is his doubting Fury's past. Deontay said on British TV he didn't come from the projects. Sure he's has a tough life with his daughter's medical problems, etc. Fury points out that he was told by his teachers he would never amount to anything or amass any qualifications. How fucked up is that - from your teachers?

I honestly think Wilder's feelings were hurt in their initial confrontation. You could hear pain in Deontay's voice.
Deontay and Fury would get along great if they were sat alone at a restaurant just telling their stories without cameras or hype men around each one.
