keep that bubble wrap it could be insulation and keep someone warm especially in cold waters. just a thought for it's uses. keeping everything and considering what you can use it for could be the difference in a life and death situation. Great Video Excellent Survival to apply land or sea.
I liked it, I was in the Navy in the first gulf war era, and I always wondered what these rafts looked like, what was in them, etc.. i had heard there was a handgun, but seeing this, I doubt it now, but still cool to see.. wondered why there was never really any life raft training for us squids, but still cool, thnx for vid..
Although most people get picked up qiuck that doesn't obviate the need for worst case scenario preparedness. The water rations are meager. Rain water should be used first as much as possible
And in 99.999999% of the time in an emergency people would get in the raft and would be picked up right after never opening a single thing. PS, save the dog
Guys. excellent video...Hope you do not mind viewers input and responses/comments to the video you so graciously shared with us...One) The sound of the rattling was very distracting and nerve provoking/wracking..Okay, not important...we are talking about Survival..I guess that is nitpicking. TWO) I am VERY surprised that with all those survival items and precautionary items... AND grateful for them indeed..THEY SKIMPED on water and Food! Surely there is enough area therea and can take the weight,..THAT I find quite unwise and am alarmed to say the least that survival nourishment was/is depleted right from the start! Enlighten me if I have made a wrongful observation. Whomever devised all this is a wise and precautionary genius. So, please don't get me wrong. TYSM for the video! I am trying to picture this LIFERAFT in a raging sea storm...enormous waves and treacherous currents/turbulence.THE PERFECT STORM...And somehow I believe it would make it ...saving everyone on board! Regards to the channel and providers.
From what I have seen in other videos, this is the minimum requirements as determined by SOLAS. I have seen in other videos a ditch bag or abandoned ship bag that contains additional supplies including food and water. Those food rations look rather small, but they are calorie dense and are used to sustain life until rescue occurs. Obviously no one could survive forever on those ration bars but they are very compact but surprisingly heavy. I'm not sure if you caught it, but there were two bags full of water pouches. Even though we would expect to drink more water in our daily lives, this is a survivable amount, and at sea any water is better than none. :)

Solid material will get break up more easily in the storms when waves come crashing on the raft. Hence they use these airtube as it's more flexible and allows it to withstand crushing forces of sea waves.
Almost unwatchable due to the squeaking sound all the time. Next time, put some microphones on the persons doing the talking and not one only at the camera.
Well pray you never have to be in one for a few days at sea then... poor you, your poor ears will be torchered (we could always just throw you out though).
all life rafts have food on board, basically energy cookies, which have everything that is necessary for survival, without causing thirst and without taking up much space, most of the space of the rations is occupied by packs of water, without fresh water a persondies quickly. military type mre are too heavy and bulky.
Food isn't an issue, water is. You can easily go without food for months. They do put some food bars in though, I've heard they are designed to give you nutrients without making you thirsty.
Dewatering lol, throwing up lol, read the label on the radar reflector before explaining... Very Proffessional...... I hope he isn't a trainer or teacher
Pretty cool video. Not information that is readily available without videos like this so thank you for satiating my curiosity.
Got some real clever engineers that design these things, few things I never would have thought of, like the seasickness pills and the radar reflector.

Good info on what to expect. You can always keep a Grab bag with added items that you might need.
OMG, I would say deafness is definitely an advantage if you're forced to go aboard a liferaft.
The thermal alu blancet on the bottom/floor is mainly for radar detection as it will reflect radarsignlas to be detected on radar!

Libranitus Johnson pretty sure they were Coast Guard
Great video well talked

They should add some creole seasoning, trying to eat the 1st person that dies dry will be hard
Need ear plugs to protect us from the squeaks!:)
It sounds like a dolphin is aboard
I hate it
Goosebumps
fr 😡
Did they ever get rescued?
And in 99.999999% of the time in an emergency people would get in the raft and would be picked up right after never opening a single thing.

I have watched so much
I shouldn't be alive that alot of ppl at sea ran out of food and water on guy was out at sea on one of those for 78 days
Rather be safe than sorry. I ain’t tryna be Steve Callahan and lost for 76 days literally dying.
Great point.. ditch everything. It PROBABLY won't be needed. Christ.
How do you know the floor doesn't feel cold, you've just got in, it's dry and you're wearing gloves, boots attached to a survival suit?
You act as if he’s never done this before, plus those reflectors are proven technology
Don't worry guys look out the door. You've made it.
Just swim over to the pier
I think I'd rather drown then stay in that squeak machine

What thing u wearing?
what. about good " single barrel " of jack daniels and good cigarrets
Both are things that would seriously reduce your chances of survival.. that's why they're not there.
I agree. Should be a moral boosters bag. Booze, smokes and playing cards and some weed. :)

Why can't the tubes be covered in a material that solidifies when it comes into contact with water? To prevent it from punctures.
because it if malfunctions you're toast.
Weight and volume, this is more practical

Dreem Walker it gets a lot better about a third of the way in.

Could've at least added a few packs of smokes and a lighter. You wouldn't want me in there without those.
That one dude needs to take a breath and chill out LOL you can definitely see he would be that dude in the class. (not the teacher)
Whatever you do... don't take your gloves off!
Why?
Yea because then people will know when you do a quick survival jerk
Never mind all that !!
Where is the morphine !!
The 1st top UA-cam search result, above this video at the moment, did so little research, that some of it might have been made up.
Why do I feel like I am watching kinder gardeners.
Thanks for showing us info about your raft! 🙏
couldn't they have put some mres in raft?

@@mariocarneiro7237 - Yep.. and MREs need additional water to prepare the food.
MRE's don't tolerate high temperatures very well. Life raft rations will survive high temperatures.

Question a man was stuck in life raft for two months and couldn’t drink the water because the orange material made it undrinkable
He would be out on his f**kinn ear, swimming with the sharks if he kept making it squeak like that.
Well...that would be a living nightmare.
Hopefully my ship would crash ashore a deserted isle ripe with coconuts, pineapples and Nude Amazonian Woman.

He was mentioning "class" alot. I'm kinda worried
