- Listen up all you William Clarke and West Coast Blues fans! I got this DVD from Jeannette Clarke (Lodovici), and I can tell'ya that it's serious business on this one! William Clarke is in great shape, outstanding harmonica, talking to the audience and singing. The band is awesome. Buddy Clark and Eddie Clark lays a SOLID ground for this steaming train of B L U E S! Both Zach Zuniz and Rick Holmstrom swings as hell, trading licks, double stops and you name it! I'm really impressed with Zach Zunis, what a guitarist, awesome timing! Then William calls up Alex Schultz and Bill Stuve from the audience (see Must Be Jelly video) and the band takes off into next gear, man, can it get any better? All in all its 1 hour of steaming hot jumping blues. Alex and Bill plays on several songs in the middle of the set. Mail Jeannette at: JLodovici@aol.com I f you want it!
I can also recommend the new William Clarke cd called, One More Again. Great harp work as usual from William. And for all you "jumpguitaraddict's" out there it's a must! Alex Schultz on 7 of 10 tracks!

Jeannette
Jeanette I don't know you but I just had to send you a note off this one. I was jamming my ass off to this just now. I have all the cds Wm did on Alligator records and got the chance to see him in Chicago at Buddy Guys. He blew me away. He's my all time favorite blues artist. He was so nice to me. I came up to him after his show told him I had all his cds and he signed all of them for me. Then he let me ask him some stuff I told him I was a swing dancer and that we played his stuff all the time told him my favorite of his was Sweet Angels Gone. What a night!! What memories sooo glad I got to see him. He was one very special guy. Pam
Jeanette how can I get a clean copy of this version that doesn't skip plus I'd like another of his cds I don't have. Thought I had them all but found out I don't.
That he was!!! He was one of my favorites. I got the chance to talk to him a few times after his shows. He was always very friendly and appreciative that you came out to see him.
What a jewel of a musician. I remember being at this record release party at Lamars Record Store in Long Beach. I even saw myself in the panning of the crowd. They had red beans and rice for free food. Such a blast. Sure do miss William,
I was there!...The BIG MAN was AWESOME!
You see William perform once, you're hooked. Miss him often.
He came to my house in Denver. Loved me some William Clarke! He autograped one of my cds. God bless this man!
Great band. Thanks for sharing that....
MISS U BUDDY!
Miss U Buddy!
Blues Masters !!!!
..Mr. Zach Zunis on wicked guitar - it's a beautiful thang
Me too J...I was in the back drinkin beer with Benny. One of the Greatest of all time!
Seeing this I lament the passing of Clarke and of Lamar's Records. It looks as we won't see the likes of them both again.
@jlodovici - WC was an authentic GREAT and his loss was a huge blow to the blues world, although maybe they didn't entirely know it at the time. RIP
William Clarke was the man!
man i watch this alot!
loved him.... absolutely the best!
Bad as hell. Blowing like hell brother! He, in my humble opinion, was the baddest. Love it - thanks for sharing.
Love this guy. I can't stop listening to his albums. Unfortunately, being fairly new to the harp, I didn't know about him. Ronnie Shellist was kind enough to talk about him on one of his videos. He's up there with some of my favorites. I wish he were still around.
Hells yes!
This is a nice post.
This is a killer performance, however is there a cleaner copy of this where there's no skipping about 1 minute of this the DVD skips. This my favorite performer and performance of this song. RIP you will never be forgotten and your music lives on. Many thanks for this upload to you tube
“Lamar’s Records And Tapes”! Around the corner from my then-girlfriend’s (now my wife) house in North Long Beach. William C. , gone too soon......
He was incredible. Very generous with the guitar players. Sounds like his 7 blow reed was going flat. Maybe that is why he didn't play much on this cut. I know that drives me crazy.
Thanks for putting this up. Heard a couple of new verses
