Thats a good idea. Im lazy so i got a gauge mount thing for my driver side pillar, my only problem gauges were oil and coolant, i like to have visible numbers anyway.

As long as you can keep an eye on the vitals... That's all that really matters.

No problem. If mind were obd 2, id consider building a digital cluster. Theyre pretty simple from what ive seen. Thanks for watching.

how do you know how much fuel you have? and also what seats did you put in there? im reworking my grandfathers old 1988 f250 super cab long bed. that cluster looks pretty good . every time i go to the salvage yard and i see one of these 1997-1991 trucks or broncos i get the gauges , i got about 6 complete gauge sets in a box for spairs

The fuel gauge is in the overhead console with a on-on toggle to select between tanks. Tanks have aftermarket gm senders. You might be able to fit 4 gauges but it'd be tight. One of those round quad gauges though would likely fit and cover everything and they've become a lot more affordable now. Autometer has a few different styles of quad gauges and there are some cheaper options too.

@@NotSoGrandGarage Is there a factory backlight wire in the 2 connectors to the cluster? I can not find a good wiring diagram for the instrument cluster. Or did you tap into backlight wire that goes to radio?

Got a 90 f150 5.0. it has no dash or cluster just steering and wires hanging around. I ordered the 5 single set white with red needle clusters. What do I do about the miles so when I go get it legal they look to see how many miles it has?

    • @NotSoGrandGarage

Most states titles that I've seen have an area to check off for "not actual mileage" or "odometer beyond mechanical limits"... something along those lines. Shouldn't be an issue but call your dmv

@@NotSoGrandGarage alright awesome! Thank you. Everytime I went to get plates or get inspected the dude would have the title in his hand or something and would peek his head in the car to look at the odometer. was just afraid I would have to set the odometer on the speedometer that I'm getting. Since it's brand new I'd come in with like 4 miles on the truck so the title would say 140,000 then he'd peek his head in and see 4 lol. Was just afraid that when I got the truck that the speedometer and all the dash being gone would be a problem with getting it legal showing the miles on the truck to the inspection guy.

@@raviolibandit8396 shouldn't be an issue as trucks this old us mechanical odometers that can't be reset when replaced. If they question it, just tell them that the old one failed and needed to be replaced.

It's over 25yo so odometer reading doesn't matter anymore. Just when you sell it just to be a nice person you should be honest amd just put 1234 miles lol aka unknown it gives you good karma
