What’s going on buddy. These cars sometimes has a lot of electrical issues. Sometimes all cause from battery going bad or dead or just grounds that need to be cleaned. But your issue sounds like one of the common ones. I think what’s happening is when the key is inserted and turned on it sends a signal to the bcm(passenger footwell kick panel) and says hey you need to unlock the steering column so the car can drive. Well the signal never gets sent and when you try to pull off it shuts the car down. Also maybe a security feature. So either it needs an ignition switch or what I’m think is just a lmc5 adapter. Just look the lmc5 up on the internet to get more info but it’s like a column lock bypass. There relatively cheap and you can get them from amazon. Now…..sounds like you owe me a great deal on a 2004 c4 corvette with a manual transmission lol
You need a LMC5 installed, common issue with the C5. An extremely bad battery will bring up this issue also. It’s in the software when that code is active to shut the car down at 5 MPH.
_Just having a chance to catch up on your videos. I sincerely believe as your Dad believes(if at all possible)...see the car in person before pulling the trigger. (That is if it's an auction find). I'm totally old school with Dad, especially with Corvettes(and even more so with fifth gens)._
@@rubyred93chev Thank you for watching some of our videos! Yes he definitely hates buying online but where we live would be impossible to go to every auction weekly wouldnt have time to sell them haha.
Thats why you physically go to the auction and look ,touch, and smell a car. You have to realize that any dealer that has most any car at a auction has tried to sell the car themselves on their own lot and are unsuccessful. Or your buying from a wholsaler who bought the car, had it repaired and is trying to flip it. You seem to be new at the business and your trying to put on a show with your rings and fancy watch. You have to get to know the people your buying from and earn their respect. DON'T trust any auction. They make money on every car that passes through thier facility and they dont have a dime in any of them. Your better off doing your best to buy off private sellers. Estate sales and advertising that you buy corvettes.
Years ago I had a 4 speed that did that and the linkage was messed up it was in 2 gears hence when you try to move it kills try putting the transmission linkage in neutral positons then it won't kill. I felt foolish after I had my car towed and that was all that was matter.with it. Just a guess though.
Buying cars IS easy. I have bought hundreds, without issue. Just have to be careful, both before buying (I NEVER buy cars without seeing/inspecting them in person first, even if out of state) and when selecting a transporter (or...just go get it yourself!).
The dashboard is telling you to service the vehicle it has the pull key 10 second showing that's possibly the Stirring column lock issue look it up take you 5 minutes LMC
We did get this corvette up and running perfect thanks to the comments! I appreciate everyone who commented
That looks like a security issue. It doesn't set off an audible alarm but disables the drive train from moving.
You need the column lock by pass installed

As mentioned the lcm module is a simple fix. Don’t stress it will be good to go. Happen to me once, simple fix.
You can fix it yourself in 15 mins with the lcm instructions
Never buy a corvette without kicking the tires. You buy what you inspect, not what you expect.
LMC5 bypass and a strong battery
