Failure is only when you don't try. More completely failure is when you don't want to put in the effort to try out of a sense that success is fleeting and not worth the effort. Futility in life is not to be dwelled on because that only leads to the inability to be motivated to have small successes that lead to larger ones. When you don't try you can never succeed and go down the slippery slope of ultimate failure by becoming less capable. You become less desirous of success through lack of experiencing its benefits especially the mental and emotional ones.
