I was so hyped when I properly first went those Class 800 IETs with Great Western Railway back in July 2 years ago. The experience was fantastic and they accelerate a lot quicker out of the stations on departure plus I like the way they switch from Electric to Diesel near Didcot Parkway in 2018 and Chippenham in 2019 plus switching from Diesel to Electric at Swindon in 2018 and Chippenham in 2019, it's just so good. My best journeys on those trains have been from London Paddington to Oxford and back and London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads and back which I love about travelling on those brilliant Class 800 IET trains and I love them a lot.
These trains are very nice and are great in the acceleration, which is the main reason these are my favourite train. And I like the announcements that both the GWR and LNER types have. Once again a great video also
@@journeysofjames1116 simply rubbish, don’t think Hitachi say sorry, think about it a part will crush someone, I don’t think this is a “Good” train....
Great video. Sadly these trains are factually garbage and the HST is so much better, in every way and there is too much evidence too stabilise my point.
Iet are much better than hst more acceleration better quality and trains have problems when they are new and the only people say hst are better are hst fan boys I know old people that say the seats are much better
IETs are better than hsts in more than just speed 💀. In the event of a crash you won't die on an iet. The Stonehaven crash showed just how bad HSts are
What a great Train, so glad LNER and GWR got them! Sad to see the HSTs go but these are a brilliant replacment! :)
Honestly I don’t like the class 800 I find it bad for me since it replaces the Hsts, but it’s fine if you like them
Both of your names has Thomas in it
@@aaravsgaming337 yea, funny
And it’s very uncomfortable, and pretty terrible in my opinion
Gwr HSTs are still around in Scotland

I remember see the first one at Ealing Broadway
YAYAYAYAY my favourite apart from the Voyager they sound great and this video was great!!
Smart looking trains, but they should have used the HST seats, I heard that LNER are actually working on fixing the seats in the Azuma fleet

I like the speed, but the rest is awful, in my opinion, terrible build quality and comfort, have you heard these have all gone for now?
@@TEBEnthusiast yes. They were withdrawn last Saturday because cracks had been detected on more than one of the trains in the undercarriage

@@journeysofjames1116 but it’s good they out, I think some trains will fill these trains (HSTS and ICC225s)
@@TEBEnthusiast A lot of them are back now.
I love these train so much, great video 😊
At 0:40-0:43 who else saw the second half of the train was a pride liverie
Edit: You may need to pause
Did so!

Yes, I saw it.

1:16 That Hellfire Speeding Sound!
They look so smart
I can’t disagree with you, they look pretty nice
0:39 TRAINBOW!!!!!!!!!
Love this train
0:40 I see they went the pride livery route.
0:31 so lucky
Second! Great video 👍👏
great vid. do personally like these, seats cause alot of debate but i personally find em fine but could be better.
the 745s are an example of high quality Intercity trains, its a shame we didn't get those for the IEP
@@thetransporthub wouldve took the same seat design as the GWR HSTs. Very nice seating in standard and first.
0:32 A Class 360
The high speed wasp train!!
Great video
Thanks
Nice video 👍
Thanks
4:14 lucky you!
Cool
I travelled on them and their seats were not as uncomfortable as a thought
Interesting, how was it?
Very nice
@@Great_WesternTVFan good to hear
Yeah that's because people like to make up lies about the IETs in spite of them replacing the death traps that are 43s
Why is LNER so overpriced?
The class 800 are super fast
GWR or Azuma?
That is a gwr class 800
@@BobaShakeMallow they go the same speeds - they are both from the same train family.
The class 800s horn is a bit quiet though, great 4 tone at 0:32
Shame the seats are awful. But have to say pretty good train.
They are awful!
@Matt Kemp Do you not get first class seats?
@@thetransporthub yes
Set are fine
Idk why but seeing a class 800 in one of them remote Victorian style stations feels weird/looks strange and out of place

the acceleration is about the only thing that is better!

@@TEBEnthusiast Yeah
Nah I prefer the 800’s. A much needed replacement!
Hst's are nice but they are over 40 years old now. And considering they were built as a stopgap while the APT was built they have done pretty well
@@OnTheRailwayOfficial oh so if there “Better” why did they have cracks?
Great video
Thanks!
