"Next Level" is a classic early Aespa song with the multiple abrupt musical shifts. I find it too jarring for my taste, but I appreciate the talent of all of the girls. If you react to the MV of Aespa's cover of the old S.E.S. classic "Dreams Come True", I hope that you first watch the original S.E.S. song first to appreciate all of the nods to the original song and MV. ; )

Everyone thought this song would be a flop due to the amount of switch up but few days later, EVERY ONE was singing it and doing the dance 😆 It was banned for the exams and the kpop industry collectively thought it would win SOTY. It felt like it became a staple-iconic-kpop song like how you’d think of SJ’s Sorry Sorry or SNSD’s Gee 🤍

OH MY GOSH YES- I love this song so much it's not my favorite personally but again I love it, but dude the world is going crazy because when it came out it was really hated and now it's one of the most loved (it's definitely a grower) but yes this song is the definition of OVERWHELMING! It's overwhelming but amazing also y'all at 3:08 this had me dying because that is nothing compared to the "Beat drop" I also just have to say Ningning with the red hair is LETHAL that was not necessary, Winter with that Yeah high note had me dead, and then Giselle and Karina rapping was just everything! I remember the first time I watched this MV, I was so jarred by all the change ups in the song and the way it didn't make any sense. Then I caught myself coming back again and again and enjoying more every time.. I was so enthralled by their whole concept and lore and just like that I became a MY without even noticing 😅

Han's right, among all the kpop groups aespa's the group that actually takes their concept very seriously because they have a storyline they follow in all of their comebacks and it's their entire identity. Think of them as characters from a show or a comic, but it's like a musical. You will definitely understand the story and their background after watching the first episode of SMCU. I'm really excited to see you react to it.

I cannot think of a group other than aespa whose storyline is seen in every comeback they've ever done and is seen in their MVs, their lyrics, and even have 'mini films' about it. They created an entire universe for it, they released a list of words used in that universe, etc. No other group does it to this extent and that was the point I'm making. Hence the "very". If there is another group like aespa with this much worldbuilding surrounding their concept, I'd be happy to learn about them
@@guido6006 just because you haven’t seen a group do it, doesn’t mean that they haven’t. take ateez for example. every single one of their videos and lyrics have something to do with their lore. They’ve had a series where at the end of each video it talks about a members backstory which has to do with LORE. They’ve showed us so much of it but it hasn’t even scratched the surface of what they’ll release in the future. There is much more I can talk about in regards to their lore but i wont as this video isn’t about them.
And this is not me crapping on aespa. Their lore IS amazing. But you can’t say that they’re the only one that has that.

@@Daisy-rt7pb I've offended you and I apologize, I do know ATEEZ, I have watched their MVs and know the storyline they put out and still stand by what I said about aespa. But just because I think that about aespa, doesn't mean I'm looking down on other groups and their lore. EXO's, Loona's, etc, I know them and I like them. It's not about "being the best" it's more me being excited that there's a group that does lore like this that it's already almost a show.

I highly recommend watching the SMCU episodes 1 & 2 before Girls MV so you know what’s going on. Also the snake you keep seeing in the vids is Black Mamba, the villain in this story. And the animated versions you get glimpses of in the vids are the member’s æ’s(AI counterparts). But all of that is explained in the SMCU eps.

ME NEED A SOMI DEEP DIVE SO BADDDDD, like somi is almost friends with every idol in the industry and is besties with giselle, blackpink , and the twice girls !! she first started in a survival show and debuted in IOI which later had to disband but is now under the Black Label, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. I just know you both will love somi, she embodies confidence and emotions, she has an Mv for her first single "Birthday" and also has multiple mvs for "Dumb Dumb" "XOXO" "Anymore " and "What you Waiting For"

Let me tell you how freakin DIVISIVE this song was when it came out lol. It definitely pushes boundaries in terms of typical kpop music structure (which I personally love). But it wound up being a complete smash hit in the end!

I highly recommend watching the SMCU episodes first before reacting to savage and girls because those 2 songs are very lore heavy too and I feel like those would clear up things that were confusing here, in black mamba, and also the change up in welcome to my world.
Lol loved the reaction! Yeah aespa's from SM Entertainment, which is easily the most experimental K-pop company (and by far my fav). They take huge risks with their sound and concept, and imo, more often than not it pays off. Honest to god they shaped my music tastes so much to the point where I find a lot of "non-weird" songs boring now :/
Anyway looking forward to your deep dive! and tbh I wouldn't get caught up in the lyrics of the MV. It's pretty impossible to understand on its own (gotta watch their lore stuff).
