if someone can answer me this next question... i just bought this drone from amazon... i also ordered 2 extra batteries.... but the extra batteries are 11.1 V.. 1300mah .... can use those batteries even if it is a little more than 1300mah .... or it may damage the drone ....
It's NOT tail heavy, if you use any of the few Delta Wing CG calculators online this model is actually a bit NOSE HEAVY! But I wouldn't expect you amateurs to know about that. (Quoted from an earlier post) - "I calculated the CG of this delta wing and it is 14.31mm from the beginning of the Root (where the wings START on the Fuselage. Basically, it is roughly if you can't measure, in that "pocket" you put your finger into the canopy release to remove it to install your battery. With the standard 3S LiPO this is NOT tail heavy."
Great info Albert(once again) Caught other vids on this today and was impressed by the features, brushless motors & current decent price (that probably will start going up) . WIND will always take the FUN out of flying these!! LOCATION is another flaw as you need a open field that wont have some RC rent a cop kick you off or posing a NO FLYING RC's sign!
It's interesting, I would to see how they have everything setup, but it's a proprietary thing isn't it? In the 90s I tried to build an Osprey, but I think it's impossible without a flight controller. I just had a receiver, and servos, failed miserably.
Just ordered a x450 through Amazon for $118 which is the best deal I found currently and Amazon takes care of problems 30 days after purchase if anything might happen. Have the XK X520 and love flying it on lunch breaks with using a little aio fpv camera. Its alot more fun to fly with FPV ;) I also modded the radio antenna to a higher dbi one and added a watt booster in case its needed. Thanks for the review Al!
Darren Reeves did you notice a lot more range after your antenna mods? I'm about to order one so I can utilize my action cam and I'm a bit worried about Fly Away, would hate to lose a good camera!
To do auto takeoff, you need to give 50procent throttle then hold the takeoff button. Did you mention the stickmode button that is for the high an low flight settings??

I have the X520 and it flies great in airplane mode but is very hard to control in vertical mode if there's any wind at all. The X450 seems to be a lot more controllable in tri-mode and flies good in airplane mode. Why ever even put the X450 in vertical mode? Seems like airplane mode and tri-mode covers all the bases. Nicely done video!
Did you succeed with rolls in 3D mode? Can't see as the planes too far away. Also, what's the button that shows on the transmitter showing 100% and 80% (on the LCD). What does it do? I can't read these instructions to save my life. Ugh!
Just got a Ultrix by e flight today. It’s not a good 1st RC plane but it is truly awesome!! I have flying RC FOR ALMOST 20 years and this plane is stupid awesome!! Runs on cheep 1 cell packs and can fly for about 7 minutes on the recommended 500 MAH 1cell! What a blast!!! Just love it!!!🥰
I sincerely seek your advice. i have completely no experience with RC planes or Drones at all. Between the X520 and X450, which will you recommend for me to get? considering my absolute zero experience? kindly include product durability to survive crashs (as X450 seems more flimsy compared to X520) and control distance into your recommendation. I look forward to having your advice and recommendation. Thank you.
Would like to see an FPV versions of this type of craft that comes in under 250g. Just to be able to take off and land vertically in small areas and then into plane mode to go for nice long cruising flights. E.g. take of in a small car park near the beach then explore the beach in fpv plane mode.
There was a smaller version of this from another company, forgot which. My friend put an aio cam on it and crossfire, and it worked well, only the servos on the front motors tend to break when crashing.
@@engizmo My friend had the e-flite mini convergence from horizon hobby. There is also a bigger version. The small one is more of an indoor flyer in multirotor mode but can carry an aio camera if you cut some foam away and install it yourself. In Airplane mode it's too fast for indoor. @@AlbertKimTV Thanks I will have to look into it I did order one out of 30 or so videos I watched 3 ended up broken, aggressive flights? Either way I say not bad odds. BTW Thanks for responding your the 2nd that has responded..
can you bind the controller to a different receiver, reason I ask is I am looking to get in to rc , I seen some transmitters but for a few extra dollars I can get a complete plane and then if I want to make my one plane reuse the transmiter.
Could you please weigh it (with the battery) and let me know the weight, as on Banggood it says it's 209 grms & on other sites it is quoted at 290 grms & I can't confirm which is correct. If it's 209, that would be great as an 'Under 250' flyer.
@@AlbertKimTV Thanks for that. You're lucky to have such a beautiful flying location, almost like the surface of Mars! Those mountains in the distance are there any suitable sloping sites for you to use?
The rolls are not okay!! It seems the controller is not pointed back correctly to zero point. So flying in 3D is horrible! I can’t understand why they adjusted the controller not right!!
You need to cover the VERY confusing Binding process, did yours come in Mode 2 and if it didn't how to use the "STUCK" button to change Modes and lastly how the hell the Auto Take Off and Landing works which completely omitted from their horrible manual.
Appreciate any input: * NO YAW * Received it in good condition, everything works but - no Yaw in stick mode 2 - cannot bind it in stick mode 1 It took me a while to figure out how to arm the motors; I was doing what I thought was normal, 2 sticks in lower corners, no proper instructions. Eventually figured out that throttle has to be at least 20% and then push "Take Off" button, to arm propellers. Then it took me a while to figure out "Stuck Mode" meant "Stick Mode"; duh..... this button changes something from 80% to 100%, but, what that is, I have no idea???? This thing flies nice, too bad those issues wreck the experience. I still fly without Yaw, so Multi Rotor mode is not practical. Thanks for any help - gjberta@gmail.com Thanks!

The "stuck" means "stick" mode. I had a hell of a time just to figure out how to arm the propellers. I have no yaw. Was like that out of the box but I didn't send it back, postage would have cost me half of what I paid for it. Flying it without yaw, so multi rotor mode is useless to me. I ended up putting floats on it, it can now take off and land in airplane mode. Very disappointing.....

Flying around killer lights is insane. You got skills al. You da man
It's probably designed tail heavy to accommodate their future planned FPV camera installation.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I'll find out when I get a camera in there for the next flight.

I've never flown the X520 but from what I've seen, I think the X450 will be easier because of the multirotor mode. It's very easy.

One hasn't come out yet for the holder in the bottom. You can use whatever you want up top.

315g with battery - in CA anything over 250g requires a license (I have for my larger DJI drones).
Add a camera and VTX for the extra nose weight

1000mah 3S
