- This song was written by Kelly Fraser and George Arragutainaq Kelly Fraser translated it into Inuktitut. The video was made with the help of grade 9 students, theyre awesome, filming done by Sharon Meeko, drummer Charlie Kudluarok and produced by Chris Coleman. Guitar by Andrew Morrison, piano by Paul White and the percussions done also by Juan Manzo.
I’m just some random dude on a road trip to Vancouver. She comes on some local Canadian channel cooking seal meat and talking about her life. She reminded me of my daughter so I googled her to hear her band. Find out she no longer is with us. Hit me like a brick I don’t know why. Before knowing the whole story of her suffering and shortened life, there was something special about her and her wholesomeness. Imagine her knowing she affected some random Asian american dude.
She was a good person, and sadly her depression got her 😢 Kelly was a lot of fun to hang with, and loved performing. RIP 🙏
I had a similar experience... got it into my head to go on a rabbithole researching the goddess Sedna and LOVED the Kelly Fraser video. Here I was thinking, YAY, some fresh new Canadian talent, only to get about 3 comments down and realize she passed away SO YOUNG and so much. ahead of her. What an amazing talent. I can't remember feeling joy and grief so close together
She was a beautiful soul and is so missed.
