    This reminds me a little bit of when snows used to occur DEEP. Farmers wouldn't wait for days for The State to come & scape the roads; they'd put a blade on their tractors and scape the roads themselves.

    Awesome work! I am a semi retired contractor in California and my daughter wanted me to know if I could help her friend out with a environmental survey for endangered lizards in the path of the bullet train that did not exist for $30 dollars a hour 😂 our job would be to not find the lizards so they could work on the train,and this was 5 years ago and still not a train exists,but they have spent 100 billion dollars on the train so there is that.

    Thank you for your hard work to restore access. What we’ve learned and continue to learn here, we must rely on the blue collar Americans and our fellow countrymen. The government has divided us all and when we all need help, they are nowhere to be found or intentionally standing in the way. People, love each other and support each other. We are all we’ve got when shtf.

    • @markcohen4599
      @markcohen4599 10 днів тому

      LOL Government nowhere to be found? Who exactly do you think is paying for all the repairs? Thoughts and prayers?? Do you expect government administrators to be driving earthmoving machines and hauling in engineered fill?
      Also do you think local government positions are staffed by aliens? Robots? Lizards? Of course not. Governments ARE your neighbors. They are the people that live around you.

    • @DH-uu5ps
      @DH-uu5ps 10 днів тому

      Listen up, citizen. You, and folks like you, are the ones trying to divide us when we should be working together. YOUR government is doing the best that can be done w/ the available resources. Your Republican so-called leaders in Congress vote down emergency supplemental funding for disaster relief EVERY GODDAMN TIME it comes up for a vote so dont come here blaming others for YOUR sins! Maybe that orange fool from Florida can come throw you some paper towels, ffs.
      This hateful misinformation and lies y'all are spreading is akin to sedition. Look it up.
      For the effin' record, taxes are NOT theft, you ignorant fools, they're an investment in YOUR country. In YOUR future. If you want more services, you better prepare to pay more for them. If you aren't willing to invest in a better future, dont expect one.

      The World Watches.
      Stop blaming your "Government" for all your division & hatred towards one another. YOU, THE PEOPLE have done an excellent job of that yourselves.

    Is this just a temp road? Did u guys have to survey the land to make sure your on NC property? Do you have inspectors look at it? Thanks for the info! I always wonder how this worked in a emergency.

    • @BakersConstructionServices
      @BakersConstructionServices  13 днів тому +8

      1: this will allow for the original road to be repaired, yes it is temporary
      2:Because of a process called “eminent domain” the state and federal governments can use the land near roads for road building.
      3: these will be built according to code and yes inspected

    I would bet that all of the roads and bridges need to be raised at least 40 feet higher to attempt to avoid future floods.

      Maybe. Fact is though, Mother Nature takes what she wants. And if she wants it back after it's again taken from her, 10 to 1 odds she'll prevail .... sooner or later.

      That was considered a 1000 year flood, once in a 1000 years it happens. You don’t spend lots of time and billions to try to handle this kind of rare event. 100 year flood is the max.

    • @Faulpelz55
      @Faulpelz55 23 години тому

      @@bigdog2024It was the second flood in 118 years. For now, they call it a 1000year flood, until the next one is coming.
      There is channel here on UA-cam about the chance for severe floods in certain geographic conditions. He more or less points out, that it will happen ever again, as soon as the amount of water is the same. And due to climate change, the chances for extreme rain rise.

    Nice actually using rock for fill this time. Maybe dont use mud as fill under a road by a river. Funny thing is I saw a home half washed out and what was 6 feet under said house>>> a cement foundation burred from the last flood. I bet the derps that built on the high water mark wont do it again. its ok the next derppy sheep will see the nice cleared flat spots next to the river and say what a nice spot lets build there and builds again than crys ewwaaa the next time the river comes up. P.S its not a flood when a river valley fills up its just a river being a river. 99.9% of the home were built in dum spots on or below the high water levels of the past but the sheep are to dum to see it. History will repeat. sheep will be dum.

    what they’re doing is wasting money they just found out. What happens when you build a highway on the side of a scenic river why in the hell would you build that highway back in the same spot? Don’t move it over 100 yards move the highway completely which is that old saying the dumbest thing in the world is it do something the same way and expect a different outcome
