Making the apple tree is a great idea. With some terracotta you can make a juicer. Juicer with 2 or 3 fruit makes a good food with lots of saturation.

I haven't been unfortunate enough to die in the void BUT I did die in the Twilight opening chance cubes and I did get a gravestone. Not sure why you did not but seems like a malfunction. I definitely was not laughing. Been there! You're doing a very good job and I appreciate that you did not rage! I suggest turning those apples into Fruit Salad. Great early game food source from unlimited apples. 2 apples and a cutting board (from Pam's Harvest 2). It does take a piece of copper
