I’ve had 2 Karoq SEL’s and am getting my third this week. Value for money they are unbeatable. Reliable and easy to park. Comfortable and spacious. If you are not into flexing this is the ideal vehicle.
Only problem with Kodiaq sportline is that it’s over £40k and therefore gets hit with the £390.00 per year ‘Luxury car tax’. The Karoq sportline (in 1.5TSI guise) is well under the £40k mark so escapes it. Worth bearing in mind when looking around. Even if you go for a second-hand Kodiaq, check it wasn’t over £40k new when you buy otherwise you’re still get hit with £390 a year rip-off tax.
nice video just brought a 1.0 se drive and took it to holland . Great drive and gave great MPG at 65 mph ,its my second karoq good build quality and all round 9,5 out of 10
I don't think Skoda manufacture a bad car and they have something in their line-up for everyone. I recently purchased a new Octavia Estate (Diesel) because it suited me but recently at a grandsons birthday party to which the family came together there was no less than 11 different Skoda cars parked outside. Its hard to beat word of mouth 😉
I think they muat have done something to the Karoq Sportline since you reviewed it. You didn't mention Sport mode. Just bought a 2023 car in exchange for my faithful old Yeti. Performance in normal mode was smooth, powerful and acceptably fast but I recently switched on Sport mode and it's like climbing into a powerful sports car. At the end of a short trip I was still trembllng with excitement. I couldn't think I'd been driving a diesel.
Tim Rodie Drives Stuff : the Karoq doesn't have 521 litres of boot space....VW is giving a lying metric yet again....I've directly compared it to the Tucson (model 2015) when I was buying our family SUV and it had a bigger boot, a 514 litres of boot space at 4,5 meter of length. The Kodiaq has a bigger boot....no nearly 835 litres as VW claims....more like around 700-710 litres....but Karoq is definitely smaller inside and in the boot space as the Tucson 2015 is.
I've got a 1.5 SEL arriving in May 2024 - bit of a waiting list lol - and having watched a few of the reviews, the DSG seems to be the better choice so I decided to pay the extra and go with one. Have had manual cars for last 10+ years so will be a nice change when stuck in traffic to not have to do the clutch pedal/gear change dance, and let the car do the thinking for me. The review I watched reckoned the DSG was nicely ratioed across the 7 gears and much better than the manual 6 speed. Also, thank gawd, the Karoq has actual knobs and buttons instead of my current Seat Leon FR with the climate change all controlled by the touchscreen which is frankly dangerous as hell when driving. Had fun in the Leon though, but time for a more sensible but still not boring as hell car :)
I am considering buying a Kodiaq or the Karaq. I like both, but for a daily driver around town, I like the Karoq because of the smaller turning circle and parkability. Are there any other advantages the Kodiaq has over the Koroq, besides the Looks??
That's a very nice looking little car but Holy Lord 42k is a lot for a little ish SUV. i like the way you think though, second hand and bigger is way more sensible. Great job!
I’m about the same height as you and my head is squashed against the ceiling in the rear with the varioflex seat models and Pan roof. The normal rear seat are much better.

I'm on my second Karoq Sport Line and love it. Value for money.
Absolutely excellent presentation - big thank you. I'm ordering this model online so been help seeing review.
Ah thank you! Hope you enjoy it :)

Ofc, a tiger never changes his stripes
I imagine they measured it using litres of diesel...
Hi Tim, In the se L trim would you pick the DSG or manual?

1:41 Did you say 42 Grand? Like as in £42,000 GBP? Wha? 😳
A job at PWC or Deloitte…haha, what could be worse? 😂
Apologies to anyone who works there...
Maybe
Weird that the Android Auto Play is not wireless. My wife has a pre-facelift non-Sportline version from 2021 and it does have wireless Android.
It is.
Great review. Thanks. Am now considering one of these as need a comfortable family car which can swallow up all of the UK’s pot holes!

very cool car 👌🔥🔥🔥
What colour is this exactly?
I've looked back through my emails and it was graphite grey metallic.
Tim, you lost me at 42 grand…..
You always remind me of an unhinged Yankee
Is it the coat? :D
42 grand for 150bhp....fuck me what's happened to modern cars!

If I had 42k to spend on a car, I wouldn’t be buying a Skoda.
Whats the point of such big rims on a suv? Looks ugly and unpractical to me
S in SUV should stand for Status, not sport.
People associate big wheels with posh / status 🙄
@@DontPanicDear another stupid thing is you cant even get smaller rims on higher trims these days so you are forced
But, it is as exciting as eating a bowl of porridge!
True, but then the same is true of 90% of the car normal people drive!
Very nice but at 42 grand it's ridiculously overpriced like many more nowadays!
