So glad to see such a great channel. Really enjoy your fantastic trail Inspired by your great works. I feel I will be your huge fan. Have a wonderful weekend n big supports🏃♀️👍
That was a delightful walk, despite being slightly lost, full of wonderful banter & Interesting information, reminiscent of my time with my very entertaining husband, we had the same rapport with each other as you do Sarah & Andrew, we had a very happy sixty years together, we also always had a canine companion with us very faithful friends, like your adorable doggie, The Blue Hills Legend of tin was interesting, pleased you treated yourself to some of that fabulous jewellery Sarah, I would have done back in the day, thank you once again for brightening up a very wet and dull day here in Derby’s, I wonder if the ‘Fox Snails’ are still wrapped in their pink duvets! 🤗
The first time we went to Blue Hills, there was a young couple in an old dormobile van who couldn't get up the hill and had to be rescued and towed up.
We had much the same problem when we walked from Perranporth to St Agnes, we got lost and boy is that steep part steep!!. We intended to catch the bus from the mining institute in St Agnus back to Perranporth , but it did not show , so we had to get a Taxi back. But it all makes great memories. Hope your both well.
As always....Love, Love Love! Very pretty through Jericho valley and of course some beautiful views of the ocean. Some tough hill climbing though but you both did well. I bet you were glad when you saw the car. Sorry the book let you down. (Nil poi for the book) Thank you Sarah and Andrew ❤️
So lad to have seen this before our visit to Cornwall last week. Did Blue Hills Tin Mine - what an amazing place this areais - ps - spent far too much in the tin mines on christmas gifts lol
Thanks for the walk and education, love the way you two bounce off each other with your humour Tip : download the map you need before arrival, then you can bring it up on your phone, no signal required ;)
Lovely interesting video thank you... would love to see a video of you walking round Argal Dam...its so lovely there and a lovely little coffee shop there too...it has lovely memories for me...XxxX
Very short COMPLICATED walks in Cornwall! You haven't got lost for quite a while so thank goodness the trusty ordnance was on hand to help out....can't beat the old fashioned way! ''Dog streaming!'' .....bless his heart, that ''little brown doggy'' of yours. Always a joy to watch him faithfully getting lost with you two along the way too!! Looked very quiet in the Blue Tin Mine. That will change I guess when the school holidays emerge soon. Beautiful honeysuckle and foxgloves along the way. Hope you don't get lost again this week on your travels!! My daughter has subscribed now to your channel too...going to Cornwall soon, and going to do the Gunwalloe area walks. Have a good week, J x
Hi Judy! Yes we had fun finding our way! We counted 5 other paths leading to Wheal Kitty so it would have been hard for the author to write the instructions. I think part of our frustration was that we knew a route back to our car but the instructions were taking us along another route and we couldn't find it or quite understand the point of it! I hope your daughter has a great holiday! Sarah :)
I love the Jericho Valley. One of my favourite walks is in that Bob Acton book, starting at Perranporth, along Perran Coombe, Mithian, Jericho Valley then along the cliffs back to Perranporth. Quite long, so good for a whole day, but the cliffs especially are spectacular, and the colours in the rocks are amazing.
We have a number of tin jewellery items from when you could buy them from Mark himself at the mine. I have two Cornish Piskies. (Always leave the ‘knobbly’ bit at the end of a pasty near their box overnight in case they get peckish.)
Lovely video. The beach ,well the carpark and track, at blue hills (Trevalas Porth) was used in the 1996 film ,BLUE JUICE,, it stared Catherine zeta Jones, Sean Pertwee and Ewan McGregor. It also used Mousehole and St Ives,. The track to the beach was a lot smoother back then ! I like the little cave on the beach.👍🥟🥟🥟 KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
We walked up the Jericho valley in the early 70's before the Blue Hills attraction was built. There was just a rusty set of stamps there and a smallish building. There was also an adit on the left on the way up the valley. The way down and back up hasn't changed much though - still the tight steep corner with the gouged road.
Did you know that the Seal sanctuary in Gweek, got started by Ken Jones in St Agnes? I looked on the Google maps street view but the house and swimming pool seem to be long gone. Ken rehabilitated grey seals in the swimming pool. I went to school with his daughter, Linda. The house was just down from the Driftwood Spa (original location)
Looks lika a lovely walk one more for me to try thank you. Have been trying some walks around our new home at St dennis there are some amazing views across the clay mines feeling very lucky to live here.
Hi Sarah and Andrew. Really interesting as you got lost but it was a lovely walk through the country side with the rivers but what a beautiful view of the two beaches at the top of the hills. Try doing it backwards next time. Marie
Looks lovely but way beyond my old knees and hips these days unfortunately. About 3 years ago, before I finally made my move to Cornwall, I had a lovely holiday in Trevaunance Cove with my family. We stayed in an apartment in the big white house to the left of the orange house you pointed out. I even managed a little of the coast path with my son - up the steps next to the Driftwood and along to a point where we were looking down into Trevallas Cove, then we cut back away from the coast, coming out by what appeared to be old mine buildings that had been converted into a cafe and retail area (would that be Wheal Kitty? It wasn't Blue Hills) then walked back down into the village.
@@CornishWalkingTrails Thanks, Sarah. Next time my family visit I think we will take a trip to Blue Hills - it looks very interesting. I'm enjoying doing these virtual walks with you and Andrew as my chances of actually doing them now are very slim :) x
I love my sling bag too!! A recent purchase to allow me some freedom, instead of always waiting for Andrew to stop so that I can have a quick mouthful of water!! It's by Kavu and I bought it in a local surf lifestyle shop. The straps are old climbing rope, Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails Thank you, Sarah. I will see if I can find it online. If not, my son and daughter in law live in Newquay. I will gladly pay him to ship to me in america. :)
Walked from Perranporth to St Agnes along coast other day when down there, that steep bit really is steep! Am I the only one who spotted it said trial on the bench not trail as you said?!
Thank you for pointing that out. Yes, I said the wrong word and I noticed that in the edit - hence the title at that point, hoping that I would be forgiven and not have this type of comment, Sarah :)
Many thanks for all of your recent comments. Your ambitions for our channel are way beyond the realms of our reality, of what we are able to do. We are a small walking channel in Cornwall, it's a hobby with limited time because we work. We rely on the small amount of ad revenue and support from patrons to make the videos. I suggest that perhaps you could put all of your ideas together and develop your own channel - have fun! Sarah
Never knew it was there are dog love’s it especially in hot weather great find thanks to you two 👍
Thank you Sarah and Andrew! I love your puns and jokes as much as the walks! 🤭💜
I feel knackard after watching that walk, but I love watching it 💜💜
The climb was steep but short thankfully! Sarah :)
Slow and steady wins the race
Thankyou Sarah and Andrew love 💕 watching your walks beautiful

Oh no! now that sounds like an expensive walk! Nothing that a pint in the Watering hole could put right! Sarah :)
Enjoyed the video.
I certainly wouldn’t want to drive up that hill.

Maybe one day! Sarah :)
Awesome vid! A Trail I'd definitely like to try
Die cornische Atlantikküste finden wir besonders eindrucksvoll. Ein toller Weg - sehr zu empfehlen! Gruß aus Germany!

That the very walk that we were reading the extract from! And one we intend to follow at some point in the future! Sarah :)
Lovely bumping into you both at the blue hills tin wish I could of got to the beach looked lovely Kathy and Alan and dogs
Thank you! And the beach was sublime, if a little tricky to access! More of a 'locals' beach as not too crowded unlike Trevaunance! Sarah :)
I thought we were going to get the first bit of CWT violence, after Andrew’s cheeky Bal Maiden comment to you Sarah 😆. X
LOL! Sarah :)

My father was born in a tin shed in Jericho valley .
Lovely video.

That must be a similar experience to the Bob Acton book, as he describes a leat, stamps and remains of a waterwheel! Sarah :)

Jericho Valley, original Poldark series had Ross bringing Jim Carter from Launceston gaol on a cart, I think. Miss going there.
Beautiful valley! We will return at some point in the future to walk from Perranporth to meet the Jericho Valley on a circular walk! Sarah :)
All I can say Sarah is it's a good job you had Andrew with you!
Such a nice walk. I couldnt help but wonder why you don't say the dog's name?
Because we choose to keep it private! Sarah :)
Sarah, I just ADORE your sling bag!!! I love the wide strap on it. What brand is it?

Three get lost in Cornwall, by Enid Blyton. That must be the longest 3 miles you’ve ever walked.
Indeed!! 3 miles went on forever! Sarah :)
You two shud do videos on Cornish food drinks an cakes, an rate cafes an restaurants,
Sounds expensive! I think we will stick to walking! Sarah :)
