This is a review on a Miku live concert: Magical Mirai 2018, including a lot of footage from the concert!
Even if a bit late after its Bluray release almost a month ago, of course I now present you with my "Miku Live Review" on Magical Mirai 2018, the next big Miku event a year after Miku's big 10th anniversary around Mirai. Is Miku still doing strong? How did this concert fair?
All of this and more you can find out in this super long concert review! No wonder because after all, the concerts are my biggest passion when it comes to Miku, or almost anything for that matter.
Let me just assure you: This one is spectecular.
This video also has a short "plushie part" again, the return of my Tsundere Miku! I also showcase the Limited edition Bluray box including the Amazon JP only exclusive!!
Man really, these reviews were tons of fun, I love the Miku concerts, so I hope I could share the love a bit with some of you guys. This review in particular took a lot of time to finish, like 30 hours, I must be a bit rusty, so I hope I could bring my thoughts and feelings across to a few viewers at least!

Here it finally is! The review on last years Magical Mirai concert. The concerts are my big passion, so I made extra sure this is a quality video. I worked almost 30 hours on it, so I hope you guys will like this super long review, even feauturing "plushie parts" again!! Well anyway, let's find out together how this concert was, but let me tell you: It is quite the ride! :-)

I know how you fell, I live in Australia, where you can go for miles without encountering anyone who has even heard of vocaloid.
I can't even answer that. I have a ton of favorite singers. The list keeps going on, and on.

In the next Magical Mirai, I would like more Luka because it's her 10th Anniversary. I would also like more than 1 song for KAITO & MEIKO. Give them more love.
Oh yeah. I also think they should change the order of appearances. It's starting to get predictable.
Not sure what you mean by order? Of the individual Vocaloids?
@@Kevelinu Yes. KAITO & MEIKO usually show up in the first half, and same for the rest. Luka and the Kagamines I noticed switch off, and after the band Member Introduction, it's mostly Miku only.
I swear, some of the live exclusive songs has to appear in the next Project DIVA game.

From what I heard in this review, I really do hope Kaito has grown on you in some way, even if just a little bit! It's just because in past reviews you didn't seem too fond of him, and it kinda made me sad...but hearing what you thought of him here relieves me. Nice review over all!
I guess he is hard to tune to sound good but when somebody like Halyosy does it, it can be really good^^

I am doing a lot of Miku concerts in Japan. I would like people in the world to ask them. The Japanese king and the empress also love Miku. Miku will also appear at the Tokyo Olympic Games. I wish I could go to a Magical Mirai someday. I'm happy I could to Miku Expo in Paris as my first concert but it doesn't seem as impressive as the big events in Japan. About MM 2019 I hope they play more Luka songs especially Leia, it's my favorite Luka song.
Miku's outfit for Greenlights Serenade is beautiful I would love to see it as a module in project DIVA. Having the song in the game would be awesome too.

Glad you like them! Technically I have made all videos about that I really wanted to do but hey, you never know. There is a chance I guess! But especially of course if they finally release or announce a new game!

Hmm a good friend of mine is a big Teto fan. I am curious is everything Vocaloid/Utau, but Teto never did much for me personally.

Ahh, I'm so happy Kaito and Meiko got two performances each! It was a collab stage, but On The Rocks is a great song, so I honestly don't mind at all. I hope there's even more love for them in the furure; they're amongst my favourite vocaloids (Kaito being my all time top lad) and it's awesome to see them getting more and more hype each year ^^

While this Mirai wasn’t as good as 2017, it was still a great one. I feel like when it comes to Miku’s interactions with the audience, they’re really improving that a bunch and it really shows. It was a pretty good setlist for both locations, having a fair balance of old and new songs even if there were some choices made that I have a mixed opinion on. Besides the side shots, I thought that the the experimentation with all kinds of new camera angles was pretty cool and really shows the emotions the song is trying to evoke.
If I had to give criticism, my biggest issue was all the missed opportunities that would’ve made this Mirai a lot better.
First, choreographies. This one isn’t really that massive of an issue, but it’s just that there are some songs that really could’ve use much more energetic choreographies. This is very prevalent in Viva Happy, where they missed the opportunity to use the iconic dance in this video! The current choreography is just fine, they just missed something that could’ve really made that song pack a punch and fill the audience with lost of energy.
The second dance actually coincides with the part of the concert that despite how amazing it was, I was disappointed with the most.
The Kagamine 10th Anniversary section.
I’m probably acting a little bit petty, but I really do agree that this was an amazing Kagamine section. It really packs a punch and you can tell how hyped the crowd is. But, the missed opportunities in this would’ve really made the Kagamine Section much more impactful. First, they missed a huge opportunity for them to talk to the audience for the first time, as you mentioned. They could’ve given them even an emotional speech just like Miku for her 10th birthday! The second one is super minor, and I didn’t mind it that much. I feel like Rin and Len should’ve at least got a solo song each. I didn’t mind the twins having duets the whole time, after all, they’re together forever! But we’re celebrating both of them, so having a solo song for Rin and Len would’ve been a little cool.
And finally, Bring It On’s Choreography.
It’s not bad... but GOD they really missed the opportunity to make the choreography one of the best. Bring It On is one go the most high energy and hype songs to be performed live, and with a high-energy song, needs high-energy choreography. It wasn’t exactly bad, there were some parts that I really liked, but some parts of the choreography felt pretty lazy. Not sure if it was due or how quick they had to make since the song was released quite close to the Mirai itself, but it felt very lazy at times.
So overall, despite it’s problems the positives heavily outweigh the bad, and I hope they keep up spitting out good concerts as usual. And also, I really hope they improve the anniversary section for Luka’s section next year, since she’s turning ten soon. I really want them to use their opportunities to the fullest.
(Edit: I forgot to mention Kaito and Meiko! I’m bummed that Meiko kinda got the end of the stick, even if it’s amazing song. But they really made up for it with an amazing Kaito and Meiko duet, and just like you, I can agree ATTAKAITO WAS AMAZING! They’re really giving Kaito some lately as the years go on! It’s great that even if they aren’t as popular as the other three Cryptonloids that they’re starting to get good recognition and love.)

You did a gd job reviewing the miku bluray limited edition boxset for mirai 2018. I expecially love the songs & ending to a gd concert. I do have the europe tour recording, as I know Nick, new friend of mine from recent concert over in London, shocked on performance live and now crypton band likes me :3.

This concert looks like the one in 2015 to me because there is many song from Magical Mirai 2015. Attakaito was from the same producer as Snowman and the new wowaka song Unknown Mother Goose.
That was one hell of a review, even though it was long, i enjoyed it ~
I mostly skipped parts where it was boring or just songs that were done lots of times. I do agree that they should do something new and don't repeat everything hundred times. Overall, it was surely a great concert (so stressed that i couldn't go). The Kagamines special was so nice, and of course, Bring It On is a banger. Honestly, Giga is awesome and besides live choreography being not as good as it could've been, the performance was really enjoyable 💛
As always, should've been more space to other vocaloids. As if to talk about Mirai 2018 concert, not enough spot for Kaito and Meiko. Also no Rin or Len solo songs. Still good, hope in future concerts would improve and amaze us, fans, with new stuff. Really exited for Mirai 2019 concert, i wonder what songs will come out in this year
