Hi Shane, thanks for informative and entertaining videos. Could you give a surf skate recommendation, please? I have only theory to go by in my decision. I plan to buy as first surf skate a YOW and try to decide between: YOW Teahupoo (34/10/19), X Pyzel Ghost (33,5/10/20), possibly other like Pukas or smaller. I am open for other recommendations. I look for some concave, so medium at least. I am 5'1 (1,78m) tall and 95 kg (heavy), 44 yrs., stance short of 17, not very sporty/flexible :) Wanting to use the board mostly for short - medium distance cruising, for fun, and playful flowy surfing on the flat pathways and yard around our house. No bowls or pipes, possibly at some point concrete wave park. Having almost no boarding (surf/skate) experience, it seems logic that I initially feel more comfortable on a long stable board, but I want to think also ahead, for when I am used to surf skating and not buy a second board after a year. Alternative boards I looked at: Pukas (34,5/9,858/20) which is the only one I could try, found it great (!), but for my size possibly a bit long so not ideal (?) I had no praxis comparison. Medina or Artiz shorter boards with 19 WB. Love! the shape, wide tail and front of the FANNING FALCON, but it's a lot shorter (32,5/10/18,5) or the old ARICA with 34/10,5/19,5, but it has only performance concave (besides if I could still find it in a shop). thx
Have a look at the kontiki! 34" long for more space to spread out your stance if need be Performance concave (for park riding down the road) 17" wb for sharp turns
So I have a Hamboard Pescadito and just got a YOW Lakey Peak. I don’t have trouble skating I have trouble keeping the pumping momentum up. Advice? I have watched several tutorials I have no problem getting into a pump and carving just fine it’s just I lose momentum I can’t pump from a standstill either like others seem to do.
Pumping from a standstill is just heel toeing to wiggle start your momentum, and progress that momentum with the rotation swinging your shoulders while compress and decompress your legs to center your weight, hope that helps
I like to play surfskate on land, but the roads in Macau are full of bumps and bumps, and I often get stuck and fall. Later, I bought an LDP long-distance board, but I can’t pump as easily as a surfskate. Maybe I’m not used to it yet. Can a surfskate change from 63mm wheels to 83mm or larger wheels?
Hello, for 1.85 height 75 kg is a better option pyzel ghost (20 inch wb) or pyzel shadow(17 inch wb)? Also what other options from yow would you suggest?
nice! what trucks are you using? i'm thinking of getting older yow v4 trucks instead of the new meraki because you can lock their trucks and cruise more easily, but not sure if that's a valid concern. any thoughts? thanks! :D
Hey Shane, I'm getting my first surfskate and would you recommend the Arica (17" WB) or the Pipe (18.5" WB)? I'm about 175cm and weight 65-ish. Thanks!
Hello, Sir, thank you for sharing, wondering when u doing pump or cut back, except move upper body weight or simulate touch water, will u move back foot on purpose? (Kick or drag)
Awesome flow. Since I started surf skating I’m a different person. You’re part of my inspiration.
Keep the fire bro 🔥
Your flow is dope. Chillin', flowin', slashing, goofing around. Thanks for inspo
Surfskating is now another big part of my routine along with surfing, thanks to people likes have introducing to the fun sport
I love to see you craving around the beautiful town 😀

Thank for sharing how wonderful surfing in the city. This mean a lot toe who cannot go anywhere 🤗
Well that was a nice cruise/workout. Must be cooler out there at this time of the year.
Cold as. But that day was warm ☀️
The real question in all the videos is who films Shane??
Great flow!
Which city is this? Nice video :)
Can we see Andy Anderson on one of these boards, would be sooo groovy
yow def seems smoother than the slide
Cool. If you know the name of the wheels he uses, please tell me.
Pour un monde meilleur un monde de rider cool yow🏄😆😄👍
How do you adjust the back truck for the street versus riding in a bowl ?
Still adjusting and experimenting. Tighter for more rebound and speed. Looser for easier snaps
@@shanelai2515 Cool, I will try to loosen it up a bit :)

what's your veredict? is it suitable or not?

yes, you can go up to 83. But you have to add risers to avoid wheel bite.
yow is incredbile got the pukas dark with bones bushing .It s awsome

Hi! I’m 185cm, do you think a 18”wheelbase is too short for me?

YOW arica 33" complete. With the meraki truck.
Don't think it's worth, barely anyone was doing the screw thing
👌👌

The swallow tail is non functional in surfskating. Go for arica, it is super wide and comfy riding barefoot
@@shanelai2515 Thanks bro :>

That’s not cruising man.. you’re fighting your board so much
Yeah it looks rather stressful
