  • The Masai Tribe| Visit to a village of Masai Tribe, Tanzania
The typical Masaii village called Boma has a circular configuration. Each dwelling is located on the periphery forming a central space. The houses, called Enkaji, are built with branch arches covered with several layers of a mixture of soil, urine and cow dung.
The Inkajijik (houses) are either circular or loaf-shaped, and are made by women. Their villages are enveloped in a circular Enkang (fence) built by the men and this protects their cattle at night from wild animals.
The traditional Masai village is called a Manyatta and consists of a number of small cow dung made huts with thatched roofs. The huts are placed in a circle with livestock in the middle and a thick thorny fence for protection against the nightly predators.
A Masai Home Masai is a tribe that lives in East Africa. The Masais like to live in small traditional houses on the grassland plains near their cattle or their fields. The Masai women build their own homes.
he women make the huts with mud, sticks, grass, ash and also cow dung and human urine. The cow dung is needed to make the roof waterproof! The homes of the Maasai, also known as 'Enkaj' are very small. Only 1.5 m high and around 12 square meters.
    Why do Maasai wear red?
Red symbolizes bravery, unity, and blood. It is also seen as the colour of Maasai ethnicity, especially the Morans (warriors) prefer wearing red Shuka, a traditional garment with a check board pattern. Traditionally, in some rituals, the Maasai would rub a mixture of ochre and cow fat on the face.

Known for its huge grassy plains, lots of wildlife, and the “great migration”. The park is like a big home for many lions, and some of these lions have developed the habit of climbing trees!
Have you ever heard about lions that can climb trees? Lions are often known as the most powerful and respected animals in the wilds of Africa. This is because they are top predators and can hunt many different kinds of animals for their food. Among the big cats, the tree-climbing lions stand out as one of the most interesting and mysterious. Unlike the other populations of lions, these lions have a unique talent for climbing trees, a rarity in the lion world. These lions are usually larger and more muscular, which makes it easier for them to climb trees. With longer, more flexible claws adapted for gripping branches, witnessing a lion climb up a tree gracefully is truly a memorable experience that you won’t forget; it shows just how adaptable these creatures are.
Nowadays, when people go on safaris in Serengeti National Park, they often see lions up in the trees.
When you visit the park, you might see this special behaviour during the hot afternoons when the lions are looking for a shady spot to rest and cool down.
The best time to visit here depends on the specific wildlife or activity you wish to witness, but in general, the dry season from June to October is the best for game viewing.
And if you wish to witness the tree-climbing lions up close, don’t miss Tanzania wildlife experience tour. It’s a unique opportunity to experience these wonderful creatures in their natural habitat.
