ALL things considered, Woods artistry is overall better then mirslav. Miro understands harmony better, Wood wouldnt be as good a fit with Chick Corea, but Vitous gets a little manic, Wood is always grounded, and not in a boring sense, hes grounded as in the direction the group is going feel wise. Plus his tone, the wry sensibility of exactly how he slides, hanges a bit flat for just an extra moment, the way he phrases, sometimes putting the what youd expect on the fourth beat what in funk tradition usually goes on the first beat, yet you really cant argue that what he's doing in such instances isnt funk.
I think more than a few people are allowed to be called "great". I swear you cant have one simple video on here without someone and their negative know it all comment.
Really this is one of my favorite bass players. For sure in my top 3.
This man impresses me more by the day. Just saw the brothers in Geneva. Phenomenal.
one of my heroes!
holy crap, the drum stick part was awesome. His technique is very interesting in general...cool stuff.
it's really cool that he let one of his bass students sit on stage with him
I smoked "The Lover" with this cat one night in the lower level of Tonic while in NYC. Talented player and super cool individual.
Hungry fan wants to hear more! You really rock the bass!
