In case of lakshadweep The social set up of the islands people are divided in to 3 groups that's koyas the land Lords , Malmi who are sailors of old non mechanised ships and melacheri is the people who work in the Land of koyas. These are not the name of tribes in LD.

But there's difference between english pronunciation and local pronunciation of that group.
Like u spell चारण as चरन
रबारी as रबड़ी
And bharwad tribe has much more significant population in Gujarat. Not 2500 but they are in lacs.
